i have two hydrive112's which are quite impressive with a classA 500w head - but together they are still heavier than a barefaced twin

I'm going to go out on a limb a bit here - if you saw this browsing through a record store you would probably just keep on browsing right? hold it right there! this is sublime Don Thompson on bass and Ed Bickert on guitar doing amazing things while pat metheny was still running around in short trousers https://www.allmusic.com/album/thinking-about-you-mw0000006499

y'all do know that thing about focus/attention/energy dont you? just ignore and starve him of the oxygen of publicity - it's nothing more than he deserves

J-East active board complete on Jazz bell plate with chrome knobs been living inside my fretless j for a couple of years - fully working, reason for sale is reverting the J back to passive, priced according to age (bought it from basschat a couple years back) - light scratching wear/tear on the bell plate nothing deep £75 plus p+p (should be about fiver within UK) or meet in person for delivery if you are anywhere near medway towns (north kent) full spec over here ....https://www.east-uk.com/index.php/all-products/j-retro-01.html just to clarify - am only posting within UK

3 (black) knob uni-pre no explanation needed - it's all over here .... https://www.east-uk.com/index.php/all-products/uni-pre-3k.html all complete, washers springs screws etc and in full working order - it's been in my status for a couple of years now but i decided i want to revert the status back to as close as original condition as i can get it so im refurbing the original status board - the active/passive switch is also supplied - was never connected up as i didnt want to drill an extra hole through the status body so i just opted for it to be permanent active - this is done simply by means of a couple of jumper pins - remover them and connect the switch and you have the option if you require it third pic shows it sat inside the status control cavity just to give an idea of size etc - obviusly being on separate boards with ribbon cables it is fairly flexible with regards to layout/configuration £105 finest pounds sterling - includes p+p inside UK - will be bubble wrapped and boxed and 'signed for' delivery - or can meet up deliver in person if you are anywhere near the medway delta (glorious jewel of north kent) edit - just to clarify am only posting/selling within UK

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1mxeXNw8DO190mbPQVHgTNbfGNyD4ssmw&usp=sharing ive put this up with public sharing at the moment - @Hamster if you ping me your email i can add you as an editor several of the links in the list are dead links a few of the links are flash sites and will ocasionally redirect to non-adobe flash downloads (these have been omitted for security reasons) several of the links are still live business but have no location and have not been included on the map at present some have no address details but have included themselves on google maps already so the location details have been added directly from their own googlemap listing

you havin a giraffe mate? -
and nobody gets prosecuted ... the bhs saga was utterly shameful how the fk do these individuals sleep at night no, but i spent a fkton of cash in there 🤣
-
I nipped into their bluewater store yesterday was fairly rammed - however ... their “sale offering” in the vinyl section was pathetic - so i left emptyhanded - which os fine as would rather spend it with small independents (local or discogs)
-
coversely now that we are only 24 hours away from that dreadful auld lang syne thing, there is a plethora of venues posting all over the facebooks asking for bands because theyve been "let down" you couldnt make it up 😆

Funk advice - stick to the bassline or busk it?
steve-bbb replied to lownote's topic in General Discussion
Stick to it as close as possible it is the nuances that make each song unique - if you play something ‘close’ or ‘your own interpretation’ dont be surprised if everything starts sounding a bit samey most importantly, after you have invested your time and effort into replicating the bass part accurately make sure the drummist is doing likewise with the drum line - funk is about the bass and the drums and THE NUANCES and dont forget the ONE -
Im guessing a significant nember of members/bands on here are non-MU
-
Seriously though... have lost count of local bands/musos i know and others i see recently posting on local facebook gig groups, who have had gigs pulled by venues doing the dirty and booking someone cheaper(?) with little or no notice to the original booked band sometimes there is genuine crossed wires between bands and venues but it really does seem like the festive season is giving some event/venue managers carte blanche to act like complete aholes!

just put this up here....

steve-bbb replied to Al Krow's topic in General Discussion
i had an amp thing too - tried out a hartke 600 classD - was ok ish but tried it gigging and rehearsing a couple of times and went back to using the LH500 classA goodness -
@Hamster just a suggestion, appreciate it would be a small amount of intial work to set up , but how about a googlemap overlay linked in a pinned post 😎

Simon Standen at https://www.81guitarworks.co.uk have used several times on several basses (and an old acoustic which he rescued back to a servicable condition) and thoroughly recommend

steve-bbb replied to Al Krow's topic in General Discussion
pic at last here is the the squier, which for me personally as a gigging bass, has outshone the US deluxe J i bought earlier in the year new gotoh 201 bridge, wizard thumper , new cts pots and an orange drop , last little remaining job to be done is a trip to the local luthier https://www.81guitarworks.co.uk (thoroughly recommend for anybody in the maidstone area) to get the nut slots sorted out which are a bit high - looks great for gigs too as our guitarist has a late 70s strat in same colour config (except rosewood board) so they make a good pair
