1. any philately enthusiasts out there collect first day covers i have a stack of falkland islands, south georgia and british antarctic territory covers for a good home cant sell them as apparently according to the purist stamp experts they are worth absolutley bugger all! but they do look nice! 10 squid should cover the postage and packing nicely - or collect if youre local in north kent
2. sorry forgot earlier big plus one for the northern soul original version of this - it knocks spots off the soft cell version anyways!
3.
So you've never covered a Queen song then? Just because a gay bloke had a hit singing it doesn't make it bad. Listen to the Gloria Jones original, grit your teeth and get on with it...
+1. What's the problem?? You're being asked to play a song not bend over and take it royally??? Contrary to popular belief you can't catch it by osmosis or from a toilet seat !
4.

Wonder how long it takes for all the YouTube clips on here to turn into little grey boxes?
5. ive been fortunate enough to luck out with a really nice affinity J - even straight off the peg it is good - ive changed the bridge for a heavier one which deffo did improve and the only other mod i have in mind is installing a pair of wizards the shop i bought it from had some mim j's and p's but there was no significant improvement over the afinity - guess i was lucky to find a good one but it might not be 'all' luck as im sure this is a tale you will hear often repeated
6. will do - just sorting postage price for daz - if he changes his mind theyre yours
7. Will do daz will sort out postage cost for you
8. http://youtu.be/-UUpnl3Xif0 </sublime> http://youtu.be/C3ZAmu-nZX4 Shannon Pierce's voice on uncle remus is fantastic
9. hola!
10. never got to see him unfortunately but have seen ZPZ at RAH (wasnt all that impressed tbh) and have seen George Duke twice, he did about 20 minute medley of tunes which absolutley blows ZPZ show out of the water imo personally i think GD should reassemble the roxy&elsewhere band and f* gail and her legal threats and just do it - i think Frank would approve
11. landranger series 1:50k not all 204 sheets but about three quarters of them (and not all current editions - in fact i havent a clue on currency but im guessing they are prob all old editions by now) will deliver for costs but would prefer collect (north kent)
12. thanks skanks i will keep an ear out for any thrusting young bands who use it on their recordings and post some youtubage accordingly
13. on hold for Jabba pending all the usual why didnt you buggers buy my tonebender this quick!!!!
14. this is the main piece - i had this planed flat to 42mm (i think) same depth as a TRB whatever that be!) with the dimensions in mm there is a spot on one face which if you do go for a J shape you will be able to lose under the bridge pickup as i checked the position - the reverse side is spot free and similar pattern this piece has been covered both sides with clear transparent vinyl to protect and keep clean the second piece was cut from alongside the 800mm length so similar grain patterning and is about 230mm wide - has some twist so may not suitable for neck but would be more than suitable for cutting veneers for headstock - is about 50mm thick but would prob need planing down to 38-40mm at a guess to remove the twist
15. moonmadness is fantastic - i grew up as a spotty teenager on that and a few other albums this is good too - quite different to moonmadness http://youtu.be/-E3ZUwI5iW8
16. up for grabs http://basschat.co.u...he-perfect-body slab of elm large enough to cut a J shape body in a single piece - second slab of elm available but needs machining, is same length but only half body width collect (north kent) or pay delivery charge (shouldnt be more than £12-15 ish)
17. well no progress due to circumstances hitherto unforeseen if anybody is interested in taking on a nice slab of elm it is here for collection to any luthiers out there who would like to use it
18. being chatham we have the coutnry's biggest primark - im sure theyll have one even in my size youve given me a really wicked idea - im playing bass for one of the local singer/songwriter acts at a weekender event soon - am sooooo tempted to go onstage for charideee in a tigger costume
19. ive just GIVEN away a colorsound tonebender if youd told me about that Tigger costume i might have offered a swap
20. sorry its gone if you want to experience the fabulousness that is an original colorsound then take yourself and band for a wee recording session at ranscombe studios in rochester kent - a secluded audio heaven of analogue fantasticness!! as JIm has decided to buy my spare 115 cab which i dont need any more im going to donate it to ranscombe studios as i know for fact it will get masses of use as one of his arsenal of studio effects - medway has a thriving music scene and Jim is a very popular recording/produciton engineer (not to mention also being the best blues harpist in the country)
21. had a TE 4x10 combo back in the 90s which i was happy with the sound with the trb and status through it - only complaint about it really would be that they are ball breakingly heavy the only reason i didnt go for TE last year when i bought my latest rig was cost considerations - actually glad i went for hartke as they are IMO equal if not better than TE and definitely much more bang for your buck
22.
You think that's bad? The bass player in my band has got about £600 worth of effects pedals, including 2 envelope filters, and NO tuner!
that sounds like a fantastic option - even better THREE filters for the guitard - one high pass, one low pass and one mid
23. is it worth getting the cab checked over too? is it possible for a dodgy connection somewhere inside the cab to affect the impedance and then change the power draw on the head?
24. thin excuse i know but lets shoehorn the cardiacs in anyways http://youtu.be/1-g1R3hOUeY
