"they are on the top floor of a building at present and are a lifestyle choice" I wonder if they are wired in to some home stereo system pounding out some heavy beats in the top flat of a block somewhere... poor neighbours!
Yip, no vat or import duty applicable and courier charges treated internal US shipping. Thats about a £350 saving on the best UK price, sweet!
Hey! Spill the beans on how that works chum!

Will do Stevie.

Ah bugger it. Well I suppose it edges me towards changing my gear then. If I can find a nice, loud, fat but fun and very lightweight 4x10 4ohm then I think that may be my option. Or maybe re-coning it?

All my basses are passive, and it is with any bass I play through it.

Hi Being a technical goof I'm not sure, but I think the speaker in my Ashdoen mini 15 is in a little trouble!! There is a quite obvious fuzz sound after playing a note, as soon as it decays. I'm guessing it's damaged in some way. This happens at any volume BTW. Anything I can do or tests to pin down what it may be? Cheers Mark

Not a trick really, but I love having my wireless system so I can bugger off into the audience as and when the mood takes me. Sitting down at a table with some unsuspecting punters as I rattle out a bassline can be fun And on a practical note, it allows you to hear the sound mix out front too.
So Mark, is that neckly challenged P up for grabs now? I'll gladly give you back what you paid me! C
Uhm, in simple terms Chris... NO!!! I'm not beaten yet! Mark

One lovely and totaly awesome Shuker JJB bass is now in my hands and I'd like to say what a total pleasure it has been dealing with Clarky. It's great to have total faith in some one when you are carrying out a remote transaction, he has been helpfull throughout and I can 100% recommend Clarky for a straight up honest deal. Top class geezer! I have a small amount of guilt for hassling him about selling his JJB.. but that guilt is very quickly fading as I just can't put the damn thing down, and it's all mine now!!! Thanks again and I promise I'll look after it like one of my own limbs! Mark

Elvis - The Vegas Cheeseburger years. Who was his bassist?
Gotta laugh Seriously though, there's a lot of late '70s P necks on USA ebay. Although it's always a bit of a risk buying a used neck, many come from perfectly good instruments that have been bought cheap and split for profit. This is big business in the US, but the good news is that prices for necks and bodies seem to have come down recently. I've bought three necks from the USA and only had problems with one, and even then I received a partial refund from the seller to pay for the fix. Still think you should get the original fixed.... Chris
Yup, I have been having a look on the evilbay and thinking about one of those. Actually I find it quite sad that all these great instruments are being bopught and broken up to sell as parts, presumably at a better profit than as a whole. Seriously though, I would get the current one fixed. Is there anyone you could recommend? Mark -
Jerry does a great solo on Polk Salad Annie... The Live at Madison Square Garden version is great. Elvis' band of the time was crap-hot.. the only thing that lets it down is that Ronnie Tutt always seems to be in a hell of a hurry to get to the end of the tunes...
Yeah, that's the one my friend had just texted me with. But if there is one of That's The Way It Is, that's got to be worth a shot. -
Never Never Never! It's my fave bass ever. Now, the 62 I could be persuaded to sell
Ah well.. no harm in asking! .... or how about just the neck... -
Do you know which album it's on Mark, I feel a bit of an ebay purchase coming on
Alas no. I have it as an mp3 that I obtained some years back. It's lurking on a back up CD... somewhere. I'll ask my incredibly unreliable friend who is a big later years Elvis fan. Don' hold your breath though! -
There's a live version of Suspicious Minds which I reckon has some of the best bass playing ever on it, real tight and the line just builds and builds. Pretty good bass line anyway, but Elvis takes the song out at a hell of a pace which makes the musicianship even more impressive C
Yeah, I know that one and I totally agree, it's vastly superior to the standard recorded version, it absolutely kicks -

UK made Ashdown MAG600 Evo I, Hartke LH500 or Little Giant 1000?
Marky L replied to Delberthot's topic in Amps and Cabs
That does look to be a cracking deal. Well I guess it's as they say in the ad, they're an exclusive build. I'd be interested to hear if you get a response from Ashdown on it. Would make a primary or backup head. -
I have always tried to edge my sound towards something like - "A box of spanners being chucked down a drainpipe" Uhmm and dare I mention- Wooly *runs and hides

Ebay clearout to end all Ebay clearouts....
Marky L replied to wateroftyne's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Yup It was me looking at a Blackstar before and it went too rich for me in the end. The one he has is lovely, but stupidly overpriced. Even taking into account no duty to pay, it's significanly pricier than the US one I had to walk awya from. I have emailed him a link to the US one just sold, and the guide price from 2010 Vintage Guitar book (thanks Si!). So we'll see what he comes back with. He rates it as "Near Mint".. but it has some obvious cracking/crazing to the paint, would that still keep it at NM status? -
