    Hey all, Got a nice SR4, dates from 2004 or 2001, I forget which. You can see it in my avatar, and I will glady do more pictures if there is interest. It is just what a SR4 should be - I have actually owned it twice, having sold it and bought it back, but i am wondering if I don't simply want something different - a change. So, I am offering a feeler up - £750 for a sale, or what might you trade for it - Precision, Jazz, G&L, Status? Not sure really, but I have a hankering for that "one"bass that will stop me looking around. Cheers Chris

    haha. Fingers crossed. Shame you can't just borrow another power amp. Could Nottingham PA lend you one quickly - they are just downstairs from you.

[/quote] I could be wrong, but I don't think that disconnection of the ground on an XLR is dangerous - otherwise why would all DI boxes / DI outputs etc allow this. Don't confuse this with disconnecting the ground on a mains lead - this IS dangerous, since if there is a fault and there is no earth on a piece of equipment (which would be the case if the lead had no earth), the metal case would become live. So, try it - as long as it is a signal lead and not mains, you will be fine.

    Maybe. And I don't quite know how earth loops work but the frequency of the hum is mains related. Is there a ground lift switch on any of the gear. I have a similar issue in my studio where my Roland drums him unless I lift the ground on the di box I use.

    250 w doesn't sound much fun - although if it is rated honestly then it is more than the TC.... And EBS watts are "loud"? my HD350 is anyway.

    Hi Right, EBS incoming, so now my ABM EVO2 500 is up for grabs. Mechanically is superb condition, had pretty light usage all in all, and everything works 100% as it should no issues at all. Cosmetically there are a few superficial marks on the casing, but nothing that breaks through the tolex. The only proper issue is that the leather strap is broken, so I took it off and replaced it with a nice blue bungee strap. This works perfectly, is more comfortable that the leather handle too. If I were keeping it I would not bother to replace it with another leather one tone honest, but I am sure you could fit any generic leather strap if you wanted with no problem at all. Anyway, it is in Nottingham, would rather not post but could probably sort something out, or meet somewhere etc - just let me know your thoughts. Pics attached - edit, they are not as i cannot attach at the moment. But I can email some, so get in touch. Edit again, pics attached :-) Looking for about £200, ish.
