1. Like them, or hate them, The Beatles were, and still are "The Beatles!"
2. Not totally on The Beatles subject but, When albums are evaluated, or discussed, they somehow get compared to Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon", or the most held as the standard, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", (June 1, 1967)
3. Norwegian Wood. Wasn't that a Beatles song? But I don't think they mentioned a fongerboard.
4. I don't think the Mexican Fenders in 2007-2008 had any through the body. Not that many American Fenders either.
5. 49 Years ago today, Ed Sullivan yelled out on live TV, "The Beatles!" The Beatles American Debut on The Ed Sullivan Show, February 9, 1964. I'll never forget seeing it.
6. I'm wondering if your pre-amp tube is going?
7. Without to many guidelines to go by, I like my set up. TC Electronic RH450 head, and the Ampeg SVT-410HLF cab.
8. I played Gibson EB-SG basses on and off for going on 44 years, and recently went back to the long scale bass. No more short scale. I don't have a problem with either one, I just prefer the long scale. Short scale aren't as easy to find the variety of string types as long scale for one thing.
9. From what I've told in the past, an Alder wood body won't have a one piece body, because the diameter of the tree isn't large enough to make up for a solid blank board. So two, three, or more pieces in some cases makes up the Alder body. Other woods are large enough to do a solid body blank board. Ash, walnut, etc. They did do a nice job on the Rosewood for the fretboard on this Jazz, as well. Thanks for the kind comments on my Jazz. I was lucky to find this one.
10. I went with this Ampeg setup. The Ampeg SVT-7PRO head, and the SVT-410HLF cab.
11. I had a couple of the American G&L SB-2 Basses. The first G&L I had made up to my specs. It took about 2.5 months. A beautiful bass. I'm using a 2012 Am. Std. Jazz, that is great. Quality Control is fantastic on it too.
12. In this photo, if you look just to the left of center, You may be able to see the splice of the two boards. This really is one of the better matchings of Alder.
13.
Thats a very lovely example - congratulations. When Fender are on their game they make some fabulous basses
Thank you, Clarky. I had to lucky one time at least. Fender did do a nice job on this one. I named her Mabel. The D'Addario ETB92 Nylon Tapewound strings are a great sound, and fit.
14. The Fender & Ampeg gear.

17. I just picked up this 2012 Fender Am. Std. Jazz. I looked it over pretty well at the store, but I didn't notice until I got it home, and saw it was a two board Alder body. The resonance on this Jazz is incredible. The Rosewood fretboard has some nice grain going through too. The CS 60's sound great.
18.
I needed a double bass sound when I was doing panto one year, so I bought a Yamaha BB604 fretless and strung it with tape wound nylons and it nailed it.
Hi, What Nylon tapewounds strings did you string on it?
19. I was going to go with the TC Electronics BC Series, but I decided to hang on to my Ampeg. If hadn't stayed with the Ampeg, I would definitely have gone with one of the three BC Series cabs. They're well made, have a great sound, are made of real wood, and they're reasonable in weight. They use Eminence drivers.
20. I would go with the Fender Roger Waters Signature Precision. I had one and it played great. The SD Quarter Pound pup sounds great in it. I think it's one of the best Fender MIM Basses.
21. This set up will do it well. One of the double bass sounds that really works in this gear set, the D'Addario ETB92 Nylon Tapewound Strings. The bass, and the amp don't hurt either.
22. Iron Butterfly - Easy Rider (Let The Wind Pay The Way)
23.
Would a valve top make this perfection (if horrible to transport around)? Tape wounds on a Ric - Very Maccaesque!
The SVT-7PRO has the valve pre-amp, that gives it that full valve sound. So I'm getting a decent valve sound out of 15 pounds of Ampeg, instead of 95 pounds of Ampeg. The D'Addario ETB92 Nylon Tapewound strings are great on the 4003. The ETB92 give a good flat string sound, and are very friendly to the frets and neck.
24. D'Addario ETB92 Gauge sizes: (.50, .65, .85, .105)
