1. If they were mine, the modulus would be out the door. But since that's not an option, I think the 55 is the one that needs to go, from what you've said. Sorry to hear that one has to go though, hope you can avoid selling one. EDIT Because I got confused. Haha. Also, if you're considering the Mike Lull, make sure you play it first. Sounds obvious, but it's amazing how many don't!
2.
VENDO FODERA YIN YANG DELUXE Victor Wooten ..TRADE CON FENDER JAZZ + SOLDI !!
Pardon?
3. Awesome suggestions, thanks everyone. I tried the new battery suggestion, went and picked up a nice Duracell from Tesco and gave it a whirl. Although the display is now incredibly bright, the issues are still present. It just can't seem to decide if I'm in tune or not! And thinks a B string on my electro acoustic guitar is an E. Can definitely see a new tuner in my sights at Xmas, but to decide which one... ooof!
4.
You could get a multi effects unit with a built in chromatic tuner, like the Zoom B1on (cheap, about £38) or say a Zoom B3 (dearer at about £107).
It's a nice idea. Having some effects to mess about with might be fun, but I think I'd get very confused with the zooms. Does the boss ME50b have a decent tuner I wonder? Hmmm On thinking about it, nah... I'm just not an effects girl.
5.
New battery
It had one fairly recently, six months ago ish. Normally lasts much longer, but do you think that could be it?
6. My current tuner has served me well for the last 5 years (Artec Big Dots) but it's on the blink and becoming more of a pain in the rear as time goes on (really slow to pick up the notes and sometimes chooses the wrong note completely - for example I'm tuning the D string and it comes up B, C, all sorts). And flits from flat to sharp to perfect tuning and back again with one pluck of the string, not even touching the tuner keys. Grrr. So I think I'm going to request a new one from my better half for Xmas. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, but does need to be good for bass (of course!). I don't have a pedal board so doesn't have to be a pedal but I don't mind if it is (current one is). I don't really fancy a strobe tuner, or a clip on headstock one unless it's really good (the ones I've had in the past have been crap), and I much prefer chromatic. EDIT: oh I forgot, no rack tuners, I don't really know what a rack is let alone have one What do you think chaps/ladies?
7. Bought some shortie strings from Geoff - I paid yesterday morning, and here they are today. Can't get better than that cheers Geoff!
8. Mine are set up with light gauge nickel wounds, about 0.3mm relief, action about 2mm on bass side and about 1.75mm on treble side.
9. Looking for £275 firm now. Was £530 new so this is a bargain!
10.
Or a Grandad pad?
I lol'd at this
11. Douglas, that's a pretty good idea, I hadn't even considered that. But, I don't think the landlord or letting agent would be happy with the solution maybe I'll give it a go if and when I own my own place I do use headphones 99% of the time - I wasn't very clear when I said play through my amp, I meant through speakers... my bad. I don't mind using headphones, but there is just a little bit more awesome when playing loud through a cab. I don't know what it is, but I just enjoy it that little bit more. I might look into the hiring a rehearsal room option, it's a good idea. I'll see what the rates are like locally I have tried putting the amp on my bed, but it still seems to reverberate all around the place. I think that's the best I'm going to be able to do for the moment.
12. Hey all I don't know if it's possible, but I'd like to play bass through my amp a bit more at home. Trouble is, I'm in a top floor flat and don't want to annoy the neighbours. Is there any way of reducing or eliminating the sound transfer into the lower flats? Something I can put under the amp perhaps. Thanks in advance
13.
What a kind thing to do! Out of interest, what is the scale length - 30"?
I hadn't seen this, sorry! yes it's 30"
14. Elixir have a tapered low B, plus they're awesome strings. Win/win
15. I might be wrong but believe these are 30" anyway, they're great! GLWTS
