1.
I feel like such a nonce for even asking
Ermmm... you know what one of those is, right? Pretty sure not knowing the difference between a P and a J bass doesn't make you one! EDIT: stupid autocorrect
2. Awesome! Nice job Andy, and that's a seriously cool bass, never seen one before!
3.
Hi again, Evil Undead I don't know if you've also seen the recent Westone thread I also did for Paul. Thought about you when I was working on it - just your kind of bass...top class. Andy
I haven't but I'm off to investigate
4. Nice I've always been a fan of your stuff Andy!
5. That looks way cooler. I wonder what it would look like with black tape over the stripes to make those black too.
6. I've dealt with that guy before, he's unpleasant to say the very least.
7.
Spector NS Shorty
The things I would do for one of these. Been itching to try one for ever. Wish you were nearer, I'd love to have a go!
8. I bought an Aria jazz bass on their website for £26 a few years ago. Made a fun project.
9. This is a ridiculous bargain, I can't believe it's still here.
10. Sigh. I'd love this. No money for a change.
11. That has to be the worlds coolest wall
12.
It's not. It's a fitted soft case - a 'neither one thing or the other' type thing.
Ohhhh. I take that back then
13. Also, says it comes with an Ibanez quality gig bag, but there's a fitted hard case in the photos. That's a bit weird too.
14.
I didn't spot that, does look like a serious fracture if that's what it is, if the guy replies i'll get him to send another picture!
It might be nothing at all, but it doesn't look right to me.
15. Be careful. Something doesn't look right - check the last photo just behind the fingerboard. Not the best quality photo but kinda looks like a split.
16.
Mustang in action
Awesome! I'd love to play one of those.
17.
Couple of Dano Longhorns for your delectation - 1st reissue in 'blue suede' I believe, and a Korean 'Pro' which remains my favourite. The black/silverburst one in my avatar was a beaut too.
I've never been quite sure how I felt about those, but I do like that blue suede one. Do they neck dive much?
18.
My Verithin (it's more comfortable than it looks; I'm trying to read the score on the floor..!)
That's a really cool bass. What year was it made? Looks like an old one.
19. Haha thanks Douglas I have a net book but it's so old and slow, I only really use it for media storage these days.
20. Oh, no. I don't get any of that stuff in the blue.
21.
Does this work? Edit - Yes! Edit again - that Squier Jag looks superb! What does it sound like? So - you showed us yours, I'll show you mine! My Fender Mustangmaster ®©™ Long version of story - I bought this 1978 Fender Musicmaster on eBay quite cheaply - £250! - thought it was my only chance to own a real vintage Fender! After a close inspection I discovered that the line I could see in the body was a a bit of an issue - the body is actually split in the upper bout down to the join and has been badly glued together. Proves the old maxim that anything that seems too good to be true most likely is. Probably unsellable as it is without making a big loss, so I decided to get a Precision pickup put in to beef up the sound - the biggest drawback with the Musicmaster. So off it went to Howard the Bass Doc, who routed out the middle to take the pickup and made a new scratchplate to accommodate it. Made a cracking job of it, too. Sounds great. Not like the Musicmaster, but not like a Precision, either. There is a sweet spot just forward of the pickup that sounds divine!
I've got a feeling I saw that up on eBay. Was it fairly recent (within the last couple of years)? Never mind the body join, I bet it sounds great
22. Thanks Paul! It does sound good. I dropped a Dimarzio passive p/j set in there (I forget which, but can look it up) and changed the strings but otherwise it's stock. It's purely coincidence that they're both black... I'd love a white/tort/rosewood bass
