1. I agree with the comments above. The bridge needs to be moved much closer to the end of the body, the left hand reach is going to be too far to be comfortable, I'd also slim that nut right down to a nice Jazz Bass width (37mm?) On the whole, its a really nice looking bass at a very good price point, but I wouldn't go near it without the above being addressed, personally... Just my 2p. Eude
 2. Nice one, looking forward to hearing how you get on. I recently bought the MiBass 2.0 head and 2 x Mi10 cabs, and so far I'm VERY pleased with it. I'm not in any danger of trying it all out in a live situation at the moment, but I'm confident it'll be more than fine Eude
 3.
Cheers Eude , the weight may be an issue , but that is rather nice ! Love the colour
If weight is an issue, you should check out the Mi12 cab then. The Mi10 is proper light, and the 12 isn't that much heavier, although it is a fair bit bigger. It'd be a very good match for your MiBass 2.0 and you can always add a second cab is necessary?... Cheers, Eude
 4. How about one of these? http://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-guitar-amps/pid31441/cid561/ashdown-vs115-1-x-15-bass-cab.asp If weight isn't an issue, might be perfect.
 5.
Nice little rig you got there Eude, - I like that a lot!
Thanks mate
 6. Glad to hear it!
 7.
Thanks Ewan, I've really enjoyed the project, except for the scary router table! ha ha RK
Specifically designed to remove fingers.
 8. Fantastic work Robin, that is really VERY nice. Eude
 9.
Thanks Eude , I'm a complete beginner when it comes to rigs , I've only ever had combo's so its all new to me really . but this looks and sounds like it could be a bit tasty . I like a warm old school type sound ,Classic Rock style I suppose . My combo at the mo is a Marshall MB150 . I like the Ashdown sound , having tried a Rig in a local music shop and thought this might be worth a try at £300 . I'm not gigging but the bands guitarist who I jam with has a Blackstar 120 watt amp which can get pretty loud . I'm wondering what size cab I would need to enable the MiBass to hold its own , as gigging may arise at some point . The blurb says 640 watt max I think ..? That might be a tad overkill but maybe around 300 - 400 watt ?
The amp will do that classic rock sound for sure. Check out the video at the bottom of this review >> http://www.premierguitar.com/articles/20085-ashdown-mibass-20-and-mi12-cabinet-reviews Ignore the review's comments about the lack of a 4 ohm output though, it'll deliver 4 ohms if you connect up 2 8 ohm cabs... I'm fairly sure it'll do 4 ohms if you connect up a single 4 ohm cab too. My advice would be to get a single cab for now, perhaps a Mi12? You could always add another to get the full juice out of it. Just a note, its 640W absolute peak, with distortion, but it can't produce that continuously, so it's actually a 440W amp, which is more than enough for most reasonable applications. Oh, and if your guitarist is using all 120W of that amp for a jam he needs his ears syringed, bloody hell! Eude
 10. Hey mate, I recently got one, and 2 Mi10 cabs to go with it, I'm very happy with it too. It seems plenty loud, although I haven't put it up against a live band yet. The amp has a nice natural tone to it, keeping the gain clean its quite hifi, but you can crank the gain for some lovely overdrive which gives you a much warmer old school tone. The EQ section is simple and doesn't make any extreme changes, it's quite subtle but I like it, not a big fan of massive over the top EQs anyway. The headphone out/aux in is very useful. Its small, light and built like a tiny tank, plus you get a 5 year warranty, what's not to like?! Eude
 11. My advice would be to go for as compact and as light a 1x12 as you can find. I've just gone for 2 x Ashdown Mi10 cabs, would be perfect for lugging around on the bus etc. but you might struggle a bit with a single cab. My setup would be one cab at home, two for gigs. As MOSCOWBASS says above, a single 10 will fart out on its own at high volumes. I believe the Mi10 cabs are based on the EA Wizzy 10. I would suggest the Ashdown Mi12 cab, but I know its one of the larger designs on the market, so probably not suited to your needs. Same goes for the Genz Benz Focus 112 unfortunately. Maybe a Schroeder 1x12? As suggested above, they are proper light, and the Mini112 is very compact. I heard a Bareface Midget at the Moffat Bass Bash, and although I've never been a fan of the look or build of the Barefaced cabs, they are constantly improving, and man alive, that Midget REALLY filled the room, I was VERY impressed with that aspect of it, oh and they are insanely light too. Might be worth checking that one of them out? For the record, that was a regular, i.e. non tweetered version and it didn't need one in my opinion. Your other options include an Aggie SL cab perhaps? Cheers, Eude
 12.
Very nice mate - it's so diddy!
Thanks buddy, it gives some welly though
 13. Very nice!
 14. Here's my little MiBass Rig. Very pleased with it too Eude
 15. Here's a little pic of my rig. It is a pretty darned impressive little set up! It sounds really good with the gain dimed using my ACG Skelf (Prototype) Guitar too Eude
 16. Quick update. This little rig is amazing. Had a little trouble at the start, dutifully repaired by the good guys at Ashdown, and now its just perfect. It actually sounds pretty good with my ACG Skelf (Prototype) Guitar too, the distortion you can dial in with the gain knob sounds very nice with it. (one very happy) Eude
 17.
I would look at an ACG
+1
 18.
Im getting it identical in every way ! I shall post some pics of the twins as soon as I get it.
Cool, not tempted by a 6 string then? Bass by the way, even if you do piccolo it up...
 19.
Got it strung E to C and it works really well. I can't wait to get an E to C piccolo. Yes Adrian seems really cool
Nice one, what kind of spec you going for on the new one? We'll need more pics you know...
 20. Very nice mate! Have you got this tuned B to G? These basses have had my attention for a while now, a 6 string version is very much on my Bucket List. Adrian from Public Peace is a really nice guy too Eude
 21.
As I have no evidence with which to rebut your suspicion, all I can say is ask me how it's doing in a year's time - the first year of my five year warranty.
Having previously owned and loved my original Promethean Combo, I was amazed at just how good your Red Sub clone sounded mate. It's not nearly as elegant in design as the Ibanez but it was very solid and built to last, a bit bigger than the Ibanez and a bit too carpety for my liking, but in a blindfold test I don't think you could tell the difference. If I'm in the market for a Promethean again, I'd happily go for a clone having now managed to audition one Eude
 22.
That's reassuring. Never thought of it like that. I've just never liked the sound of horns in any cab. I have ocassionally had to play through cabs with non-defeatable horns, and have EQd out some treble to compensate but always found that it adversely affected the rest of my tone as I generally go for a trebly, driven tone anyway. Food for thought. I was looking at the Ashdown VS cabs but can't find any info about them anywhere! But that probably deserves it's own thread.
I'm not sure they're making the VS cabs anymore, but they're certainly more along the lines of what I think you're looking for, albeit a bit hefty. The Little Bastard Cabs, 1x12 and 2x12, where apparently much lighter versions of the VS ones, if you can find any. Maybe try giving Ashdown a shout, they might have some older stock kicking around? I can give you an email for a good guy at the firm if you want, send me a PM. Eude
 23. Oh, by the way, the Mi10 Cabs have a whizzer design, like the EA 10" cabs, not exactly sure how it works, but it's a lot more subtle than a tweeter/horn. A much more natural sounding cab in general, I'm very happy with mine so far. Eude
 24.
An alternative would be to just place something in front of the tweeter like an old sock to tame it!
You could also just EQ out some of what the tweeter would reproduce? You should be able to cut highs with most EQ's... Eude
 25.
Interesting... Is this doable?
Wouldn't that change the ohmage of the cab?
