  1. don't tell me that!
  2. Electrical tape works too. Used to work in catering and my skin used to react to anti bac stuff, dry out and split. Electrical tape keeps the cut together, feels and flexes enough to sound the same, just avoid folds
  3. And you have some reeeaaally nice stuff
  4. It doesn’t work like that. Each effects block has a value of capacity it takes up wherever it goes in the chain. The values are published somewhere
  5. That’s what I was thinking, but couldn’t remember the name.
  6. Which one was which? Is the 6 string Yamaha guy Abraham? Great drummer
  7. one in the for sale forum now...
  8. The old 80% up on the volume for the vintage flavour trick... I think you're going to enjoy trying my L1000 at the midlands bass bash as a comparison. Back off to about 80% on volume bass and treble and you're in P bass territory with it. (It's got an old set of DR Fatbeams on at the moment, not flats though.)
  9. @owen - you need another?
  10. Not sure - question though - what kinda tone you going for that a HPF is so integral? You’re using barefaced stuff which I think is designed to be able to take a big bottom?
  11. I like the idea that I pay for tickets, money goes to charity and their are higher chances I might win some little thing. It’s going to charity after all.
  12. Mesa gear is not cheap, nor are parts but I was impressed with their distributors CS and that they were able to point me to an authorised tech who know his stuff, and Mesa specific stuff 20 min drive away was good.
  13. I ask this out of interest... have you tried any of the new revised Stingray they released last year? Last time I was in a guitar shop it was quiet and PMT have their policy of no prices on anything so I just pointed at things... the Fender stuff was 'meh' until it got to the £4k custom shop P which was nice. The Sandberg J/MM I tried was as nice as the custom shop P by my book... but a little jack of all trades and really really master of none (which was possibly just that model and specific guitar) - then tried the brand new Stingray and it blew them all out the water - such a nice instrument... ... hang on, this is Basschat, and that above might be construed as trying to suggest someone doesn't buy a new bass... sorry... go and order it!
  14. Thanks! Turns out it’s for book covers
  15. This is the stuff it is stiff but thin, paper type back
  16. Quick question: If I went and bought genuine Marshall/fender etc tolex - how thick would it be? Local place to me has a load of vinyl type stuff in, some of it is basically fake leather and has a woven fabric backing. The other stuff feels like it's got a stiff paper type backing. Either of them suitable for covering something?
  17. Stevie - what are we calling this cab? The “Stevie cab”?
  18. We must be close to the magic number now!
  19. I want to know if we’re up to ten yet! if not and you’re sitting on the fence- do it!
  20. @2x18 built one of them and it sounds amazing so they must be available.
  21. Is the raffle for charity?
  22. Man I feel intimidated by this raffle table now!
  23. I get at least a year out of a set of fat beams. I prefer them to hi beam as they don’t seem to hit such a cliff if ok ok ok ok ok argh they are dead
  24. You’re supposed to put a wee kink in the string before you cut- then cut and do the bigger bend that slots into the winding post - it’s supposed to stop the wraps sliding off the round core I think
