  1. @2x18 built one of them and it sounds amazing so they must be available.
  2. Is the raffle for charity?
  3. Man I feel intimidated by this raffle table now!
  4. I get at least a year out of a set of fat beams. I prefer them to hi beam as they don’t seem to hit such a cliff if ok ok ok ok ok argh they are dead
  5. You’re supposed to put a wee kink in the string before you cut- then cut and do the bigger bend that slots into the winding post - it’s supposed to stop the wraps sliding off the round core I think
  6. I just followed the DR advice and used the bend before the cut that you need to on round core strings. Rebel me - mainly as I don't think I read the instructions!
  7. Jose have you tried the round core newtone? They are the closest I’ve found that are different but similar feel and tone
  8. I have no idea what the difference between the cheaper an pricier bits would mean in practice - it’s your design and I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more if you felt the upgrade was worth it - esp if bulk buying and one design made it easier for you.
  9. Does this answer your question @JohnDaBass? Low eq- low eq - dual comp - bass drive (two slots) - SVT model (two slots) fine for processor with that setting - No space for anything else personally I would loose one of the hpf for a cab sim but we all do things differently!
  10. I was about to say that Newtone are my go too if I can’t find cheap fatbeams.
  11. Also with the “bottom” dial turned off and mix at 100 all the cab sims will give effectily a simulated HPF ?
  12. No - it just doesn’t let you add anything that exceeds its processor specs. if you are layering up HPF you might be better with a dedicated HPF. What are you feeding the signal into that needs that much of the bottom end controlling?
  13. is that a very fancy Hi-fi set up, recorded on a very fancy microphone set up to have a neutral as possible response... and then compressed to hell by Youtube so I can play it out of my phone or laptop speakers?
  14. I have had my B3n about a year. Typically it’s for using IEM at church and wanting to use the amp and cab sims to the desk to give them something to work with that’s a little more like a bass and amp tone. today was a momentous day for me - I used two different patches for different songs!! AND get this... turned on an effect on the patch for the loud bit!!! Woo, this is a new me! at the end asked a fellow musician who was there if my dark glass 7k OD was a bit OTT “dunno mate you were hardly in the mix at all” sounded great in my ears anyway!
  15. Haha I remember talking to you about there ip and the ACME stuff years back. The good thing about DIY stuff is like bitsas and IKEA furniture, because you made it you'll be more attached to it
  16. I feel for mods sometimes, Basschat is usually fairly well mannered but some other sites. plus we should all be old enough to find inventive ways to insult people without needing to swear at folk
  17. I'll quote you here and refer to the other thread where everyone seemed to be giving you a hard time as the Mesa distributer seems to add such a mark up... I guess this is an example of the benefit of having a local distributer.... when my Walkabout transformer burned the distributer had a trained expert tech 10 miles away that could fix it, and work with the distributer and manufacturer to get the parts needed.
  18. Looking forward to it!
  19. Have one of their regular ones. Used them loads at a church I used to go for. Read the reviews
  20. Question would be are those desirable qualities in a FRFR speaker - more distortion would sound louder warmer and thicker

    Zoom B3 - HELP!

Plug it into a pc and use the Zoom software to set up your patches - it’s easier to do than via the unit
  22. Interesting.... and having read the rest of the thread so this is directed wider than just you... I like a fairly clean sound, just touching on some light OD when I dig in and then minimal effects. As an upgrade on a B3n Do you think the HX stomp would scratch where I'm itching?
  23. I was going to offer to meet you in my company carpark in Rothwell on the M1 and give you a lift ... but then my wife wanted her and the little one dropped of at her parents enroute so the cars full. Anyway! You'll get to try the L1000 NOW back on topic
  24. if you end up wanting to sell some secondhand GHS flats I'll try them on my L1000...
  25. Well I didn't know what you're bringing so went on the smallest/most impressive ratio.
