1.
Silly question, can't you just turn the J pick up off?
It's a matter of philosophy of life!
2. I made a new video of the bass: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpvVWSVWR4Y I put the volume at the minimum. I loosed a bit of dynamics, but at least I allowed the Nikon to record without distorsions on bass freqs. PS the strings are cheap and old
3. hello, what about weight and woofers you used?
4. yes guys it is only for trade, I tought "FT" was the way to say that here on basschat =D spinynorman, yes you've right, my Signature bass was and is just perfect to me, Furthermore I was thinking to buy a Signature neck from an Italian guy who sells its one. It has a full Signature jazz, and it hasn't got issues. The neck is the binded wih blocks one, and it looks gorgeous. In the next days I'll look for the pictures of the Signature jazz basses from 2 italian fellow bassists, and I'll post some video where there are my two Signature in action. Cheers!
5. Hi guys, I've been reading the TB thread for more than 1 hour, and now I'm feeling dazzed and confused, and bad! This because my main bass is a FULL Signature!!! So have I been conned?? well...I don't know,US guys say I have, but my Signature is better than my fenders, for looking, playabilty, and also sound in my taste. http://www.myspace.com/duckbass the first two songs were recorded with the Sig. bass (the white one) without post recording mods I've posted my 2 cents on TB http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.p...d=1#post8463321
6. I'd fancy to try something new, and I 've decided to offer my assembled jazz bass for a Trade (also with cash from me to you). I'm very openminded and willing to try,so don't be afraid to make any kind of offer (also where a lot of cash from my parts is needed) The body has unknown US ebay origins. I took it immediatly when I saw its gorgeous grain. It is made of heavy US ash (not EU swamp ash) and it is really beautiful. Not sure about that, but it looks like it is only 1 piece (I cannot guarantee about that, but I can make tons of pictures if you want me to) Before you ask, the body has the neck pick up hole slighty bigger than the pick up, thus it doesn't look good without pickguard a la Jaco. The neck is made by Signature. Signature was a law-suit Fender jazz copies producer(lawyered y Fender). After having bought a fantastic Signature jazz bass(it outgunned my US Fenders for sound and playability) I bought a neck of this brand to complete my assembled jazz. You can read about Signature here: http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...ure/J-Bass/10/1 The tuners are made by Signature as well. The bridge is Gotoh (the heavier one between the 2 Gotoh Fender replacements) Pick up are Fender Custom Shop '60, whose I still have the box. The capacitor is Hovland 0.47 (it seems an irrelevant detail, but it is not, Hovland capacitors are superb) The pots are 3 250k log Alpha The bad thing is that I leaved London and went to Parma for a MA, thus you can't try it. However,I am a trustworthy guy, I have good feedbacks and 2-3 of you met me face to face, so if I tell you this bass sounds great you can believe me. Fellow bassists who tried preferred it to US Fender jazzes because it cuts the mix better and it is a bit more modern and punchy and with more high end.(I think that's due to the heavy ash instead of swamp ash or alder we find on Fender) I tried to make a video, but my Nikon l19 can't hold the bass frequencies and it goes banana. Anyway, here you have the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HefsRF0t39w the 2 picks up fully open and the tone fully open. The sound sucks in this video =( cheers, Fede
7. I tought "Nash" was a brand, but I read "Fender " on the headstock. What's the story of these basses? are they special models by Fender?
8. Regarding the Alcohl matter, my band of London and I would drink just one shot of Rhum. (you call it dutch courage, don't you?) THE PROBLEM WERE THE GIRLS! During a gig at Proud Galleries the drummer's girlfriend hit the bottle so hard she became very annoying and really affected the performance!
9. am I wrong, or there is a bass of mine among your basses in those photo? You have a damn great taste for basses! The warmoth still appears in my erotic toughts, and now your ACG is coupling with it in a devil three way game! Just by curiosity, what kind of sound does it give? kind of a dark ala Tobias?kind of clear ala Fender? all the best!
10.
What does it weigh... Oh we are a bunch of [s]Cun[/s] Jokers!
Normal maple or birdseye maple? and, this is a good one, : 800 quid firm or open to offers? =D
11. patient, kind and a good "wrapper" of your future basses. What do you need more? great block to deal with Gareth, all the best! Fede
12. Every time this theread bumps up the pictures of your bass make my eyes bleed!
13.
Up for sale is my 1978 Ibanez Musician. I have never seen another one like it but it has a single passive pickup - all the other Musicians i have seen have the 2 passive or active pickups. There is some wear and tear which is understandable considering its age but overall its in great condition. Simplistic volume and tone controls. The pots are are crakle free and the circuitry works as it should do. An absolutely amazing sounding bass which just doesnt get used much lately and needs a good home. Offers in the region of £350.
Hi,can I ask you to measure the distance between the pick up and the 12th fret please?
14. I can't see the pictures, can you check whether the link is okay?

This is a fantastic bass guys. not only is it a beauty, but if you like modernish sounds, but still enough warm and crunchy when you play ballads, this bass can be easily preferred to a US Fender jazz. Furthermore, this is a slap machine!
18.
Its a "3G" Schroeder, under a year old (barely used). Not sure on the drivers, perhaps someone with a bit more tech knowledge could answer that one for you?
The drivers should be Celestion orange series, the best drives I've ever heard, I preferred them even to the delta series by Eminence, which I've always loved. Never thought neodymium could shot so clear so strong so along! I've terribly regretted selling my epifani cab with those drivers loaded.
19.
bump for price cut
which is..
20. Hi, have some parts been replaced? I think the pups are not the original ones(not a shame at all), what pick ups have you got on this beauty?
21.
I'm sure there'll be some info on the interweb somewhere
you're right, in fact I've found this on an old thread on Talkbass: I received an eMail back from Fender which said. "The Traditional series were a kind of budget USA/Mexican hybrid. They preceded the made in Mexico guitars, and were built with a mixture of USA and Mexican parts." Someone should write a Fender full story on this forum, it comes out Fender had a rocky life, I never stop learning something new about this company!
22.
'American Traditional' were a 90's budget series, made in Mexico I think, or at least made in the US from Mex parts. I had one a while back and it was actually pretty good, but not an MIA in the true sense. They were originally supplied with one-piece white pickguards and white VVT controls and as such looked a lot like a Strat (like the early 90's Fullertons which I imagine they were modelled on). This bass has clearly been upgraded so, if mine was anything to go on, it's likely a decent instrument Chris.
Hi Chris, do you know where I can find infos about these "american traditional" USA jazzes? So far I've only found this, by Fender website: "N"-prefix serial numbers denoting the 1990s were introduced in 1990. The numbers and decals were produced far in advance, and some N9 decals (denoting 1999), were inadvertantly affixed to some instruments in 1990. Consequently, some 1990 guitars bear 1999 "N9" serial numbers."
23.
There are tweeters but they are disconnected - it's a very easy job to connect them though.
4 tweeters?!?! wow! I've always had 1 tweeter cabs...how's the sound with 4!?
