1. Hi folks, Mostly using my Ibanez Blazer for rocking out now, so this is just sat around waiting for someone to make use of it. I built this bass last summer and it has only seen gentle practice and the odd gig here and there. So let's begin... 2009 MIM Fender Jazz Body Got this off Ebay, not long after the Lake Placid Blue was re-introduced as a colour for Mexican Fenders. It comes with the pickguard, control plate, a (slightly scratched) neck plate, the knobs, strap buttons and all screws. Don't have the pots or wire, but they're easy to pick up from other places and are usually replaced for CTS ones. There's a couple of dings by the bridge side of the bass which I have tried to photograph. Nothing major and nothing gone through to the bare wood...just being honest about them. A few minor scratches in the belt buckle area too, again nothing major. Looking for £90 posted - PRETTY MUCH GONE Next up, 2009 Warmoth Tele Jazz Neck This is a cracking piece of kit. Have a search for Warmoth and how well regarded they are if you don't know of them. This is a Maple neck with Rosewood board. It has a Warmoth fitted Corian nut and is finished in Clear Gloss. Despite this, the neck isn't 'sticky' or slow...quite the opposite. This feels slightly thicker and chunkier than a 'standard' Jazz neck, but I find it very comfortable...certainly not Precision sizes. This comes with the string tree and Hipshot HB-2's. The Hipshots can be removed if you so wish and I'll sell them separately. I'd rather sell as one as the Hipshots have quite alarge baseplate and other tuners would perhaps leave holes where the Hipshots originally were. Does that make sense?! Neck is straight as an arrow and frets and board are in great shape. To buy this new from Warmoth would be $280 = £175, and that's before the shipping, taxes, and tuners are added so... Looking for £160 posted Next, Schaller 463 Chrome Bridge This was from Warmoth, absolutely brand new...never ever used. Comes with 3 screws (it isn't a direct Fender 5-hole replacement) and the allen key. I can get pics if you like, but google it, and it looks like that! Looking for SOLD And finally... Rio Grande Muy Grande Jazz Pickups Again, Warmoth bought, these too have never been used. Ever. Comes in original box with screws and mounting foam. These pickups are rounded, but obviously fit standard Jazzes. As these aren't too common over here and brand new, looking for £70 posted That's the lot, PM's and comments are welcome. Cheers for looking
2. Two Matamp 2x12's should do it. £350 per cab, customisable, whatever speakers you want...
3. All sold...thanks for the interest folks
4. thisnameistaken - could you not use a pedal power for the 24v? I'm sure you know, but PT's (Jnr's and up) can take them. Also, if not a pedal power, could a burkey flatliner provide a single power supply for you?
5.
I think I'll be learning "I want you back" in my bass lesson today. ty umcoo
Pretty much anything by the Jackson 5 is good fun to play.
6. 'I want you back' by the Jackson 5
7. Playing the Night and Day in Manchester. I look so bored.
8. bump again - offers?
9. Now that's sexy! Happy birthday by the way mate, you're the day before me!
10. Cracking amps these, it might be better in the 'for sale' section though
11. Lancaster eh? I live there, it's cracking. If you need any tips or advice for when you move up just ask me...also, BUMP! I'm kinda tempted to get the muff back, but finances say no just now
12. That Sovtek clone was built by me! Cracking little pedal, sounds just like my original green muff. Good luck with the sale brother.
13. Frank bought my Gotoh bridge, paid straight away - top notch guy! Cheers buddy
14. Hi chums, Not using these now so might as well let them go. Set of Wizard 84's, great condition, sounds a bit hotter and beefier than standard Jazz pups. Looking for £50 posted Gotoh 201 bridge in chrome. Not much to say, works fine, got the screws but most are chewed up from me using the wrong sized screwdriver (I know, I know). Got the allen key too. SOLD No pics because they look like they would if you looked on Google. Not got internet yet at home (Thank you Talk Talk) so can only respond during office hours
15. I just realised that 'Thanks guys' might have come across as sarcastic...it wasn't meant to! I think I'll take it off and clean it and see how it goes for a few days and then adjust if required. It's a Warmoth neck and it seems very sturdy (steel reinforcements and all that) so it should be fine.
16. Thanks guys
17. Hi folks Would there be any negative effects of a neck being taken off a bass for a long period of time? i.e. months? Would I need to do anything with the truss rod? Cheers chums
18. I had an old Bassman 135 I got off a chum on here and the bass channel worked fine, but the 'normal' channel (which has its own volume, master and EQ) didn't. Spent a good hour fiddling with cables and the volumes, checked basses etc. Later realised I hadn't got any EQ turned up....ta daaa .....sound!!!
19. Mine was 350. I'm not entirely sure mine and Ste's does have neo's. Ste deals with matamp more than me, but I don't recall any mentioning of neo's when I was spec'ing my cab. Maybe he knows more? It's worth an ask about the custom bits you want. Matamp aren't happy unless you're happy and are pretty thorough to make sure you get what you want, but not sure about what you want. It's worth a phonecall, email doesn't seem to have made much of an impression at Matamp HQ just yet
20. They're great cabs. I have the same as Ste and, whilst it can be a pain to carry sometimes, I've had worse. The skids on the bottom help too. For sheer brute strength and kicking out bass, this is a great cab. As Ste said, I think Monz's 2x12 is even bassier, but also heavier. I wouldn't say it was too bulky or uncomfortable to carry, they're just right to get your arms around and mine fits in a Fiesta with the seats down along with a fender bass case and an orange valve head, with some room to spare. Speaking of cabs looking cool, they have a shedload of options to customize the cab to how you want it. Pretty much anything can be done. I went for a vintage style and think it looks cracking Good luck in your quest.
