1. Oh, how I wish I was a millionaire!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-Orange-Matam...=item588a450399
2. Thanks guys, much appreciated
3. Hi chums, Surprised I can't find much online about this, but I'm looking to see what type of wood was used for Jazzes in the 1960's when it was a solid colour. I'm thinking it's either Alder (quite likely) or Ash, but I believe Ash was for bursts and blonde basses. Ta
4. I thought I'd bump this as I've just picked the amp up from Promenade Music in Morecambe. It was the Orange at fault...dodgy resistor apparently. All is well now though...God, I've missed it! Cheers for all the suggestions.
5. Cracking basses these, and for under 100 smackers, that's a sweet deal. Good luck in the sale.
6. andy - not sure if they do put them together for you? got a link for that?
7. Half of the fun of Warmoth is searching the site and the showcase looking for cool bits. Yes, they are more expensive now due to the exchange rate, but I'd still go with them over other 'parts' companies. Good luck in your quest!
8. Kenny bought my Warmoth neck, met me at my car at work, nice chap, no problem at all!
9. What an excellent thread! Kudos to Dave for starting this. :brow:
10. BUMP...Body, Pickups and Bridge all gone. Just the neck now.
11. Glad to see you're enjoying it Chris. Great amp.
12. Pickups are black, but they may very well be sold in a few days.
13. Ok, back at home now. When I take it out of standby, there is a very, very slight hum which is normal for the amp. But still nothing...
14. Ancient Mariner - I didn't know that...cheers.
15. Don't have another cab to try I'm afraid. Would a 2x12 just stop working all of a sudden? If I blew a speaker, wouldn't one go first...not both at the same time? Wasn't incredibly loud at practice...gain on noon and master on about 9-10 oclock. Used a Big Muff too and that's what was making the vibration happen. I thought the battery had gone in the muff at first so just went bass to amp, but still nothing. I'm rather puzzled!
16. The 'issues' people have with valve amps i.e. maintaining them, new valves etc, is usually to do with an all-valve pre and power stage. The Terror just has a valve pre-amp so you'll be fine. Pre-amp valves last a lifetime, and you'll most likely only change them if you want to try out different types of gain. I'm not entirely sure why the Terror has a standby, but as it isn't all-valve, I would imagine it's pretty useless. That's not to say the Terror is in any way inferior. Great amps, and sounds a lot like my all-valve AD200...just about a third of the price! Enjoy!
17. So there I am, rocking away at practice with an AD200B and the Matamp 2x12. The head is moving around the top of the cab a few inches and I pull it back everytime it gets too close to the edge. Mid-song and it stops making any noise...not a whistle. Everything still turned on, lights on, valves glowing as they should. No flashes, no smoke, no funny smells. Changed leads, bass is passive and worked through different amps. Any thoughts? I'm thinking the vibrations maybe loosened something? Good job it was the last song of the practice! Thanks for any help you guys can offer
18. I have an Orange AD200 and have played a Matamp GT200. Yes, they do sound similar. The Matamp seems to just have a bit 'more'...can't really describe it. Amazing amp though....
19. My goodness, that's sexy
20. Bump...shoot me an offer if you think things are too high...
21. Schaller bridge has gone...bump for the rest.
