  1. I just realised that 'Thanks guys' might have come across as sarcastic...it wasn't meant to! I think I'll take it off and clean it and see how it goes for a few days and then adjust if required. It's a Warmoth neck and it seems very sturdy (steel reinforcements and all that) so it should be fine.
  2. Thanks guys
  3. Hi folks Would there be any negative effects of a neck being taken off a bass for a long period of time? i.e. months? Would I need to do anything with the truss rod? Cheers chums
  4. I had an old Bassman 135 I got off a chum on here and the bass channel worked fine, but the 'normal' channel (which has its own volume, master and EQ) didn't. Spent a good hour fiddling with cables and the volumes, checked basses etc. Later realised I hadn't got any EQ turned up....ta daaa .....sound!!!
  5. Mine was 350. I'm not entirely sure mine and Ste's does have neo's. Ste deals with matamp more than me, but I don't recall any mentioning of neo's when I was spec'ing my cab. Maybe he knows more? It's worth an ask about the custom bits you want. Matamp aren't happy unless you're happy and are pretty thorough to make sure you get what you want, but not sure about what you want. It's worth a phonecall, email doesn't seem to have made much of an impression at Matamp HQ just yet
  6. They're great cabs. I have the same as Ste and, whilst it can be a pain to carry sometimes, I've had worse. The skids on the bottom help too. For sheer brute strength and kicking out bass, this is a great cab. As Ste said, I think Monz's 2x12 is even bassier, but also heavier. I wouldn't say it was too bulky or uncomfortable to carry, they're just right to get your arms around and mine fits in a Fiesta with the seats down along with a fender bass case and an orange valve head, with some room to spare. Speaking of cabs looking cool, they have a shedload of options to customize the cab to how you want it. Pretty much anything can be done. I went for a vintage style and think it looks cracking Good luck in your quest.
  7. PAY DAY BUMP!
  8. up to the top
  9. bump. Might have a bass incoming soon, so if needs be I'll be parting this bad boy out. Rather sell as one lot though.
  10. Am I slightly responsible for this??
  11. Holy Zombie Thread Resurrection, Batman!
  12. Gah! Beaten by the 62!
  13. Chicago Music Exchange has some yummy things. Check out gbase.com and search for precisions, and you'll get loads of shops. There used to be a website, not seen it for a long time, and can't for the life of me remember what it was called...Swami something maybe? It took about 10 mins for the page to load (back in the dial-up days) but there were hundreds of vintage basses. Good times!
  14. pook - Yeah it's the American Bass Player. No worries brother. It'll be hiding somewhere on the internet. kets - Much appreciated brother! 1997 issue must be just after their 2nd album was released and there's some great tones on that. Is he specific about a 'distortion pedal'? Thanks for your help buddy.

  16. What would you consider a good price? I've got a maple/rosewood Warmoth jazz neck with tele headstock and hipshot hb-2 tuners on it.
  17. Pulling the plug on your internet connection helps. I still need to take this step
  18. Yeah, I've never seen them live, but loved them for years. Not sure if I'll get chance to see them on this last tour. Hopefully they'll reform in 15 years like all the other bands are doing, and I'll catch them then!
  19. Ahh! With you now! That'd be great. Even just a scan of the article would suffice. Mucho appreciado amigo.
  20. Bump Offers are ok if peole think the price is too high...I can only say no
  21. Hi folks, I'm letting my Fender MIM/Warmoth concoction go. I've been offered an old bass that I missed after selling it, and need to sell this to pay for it. Otherwise I would keep this bass...looks, feels and sounds grand. It's made up of.... Fender MIM jazz body, pickguard, control plate etc Warmoth Jazz neck with Tele headstock Wizard 84 pickups Gotoh 201 bridge It could do with a setup and new strings (I like my action high), and there's a couple of small dings near the back straplock. Nothing serious though. The bass is 12 months old and has been used lightly. Bass comes with a Fender vintage tolex case in black that retails for about £120. Including the case, I'm looking for £500 for this. Pickup in Lancaster is cool, but I could be persuaded to ship for extra. Here's a few pics for your approval! Cheers gang
  22. I've seen him with both the Ibanez Blazer and various Fender P's.
