I love playing "Heard if through the grapevine" but my current band doesn't do it. I'm really looking forward to playing the John Mayer Trio's version of "I Got a Woman" which we've rehearsed a couple of times and will be adding to the set - simple in many ways, but the timing has to be really spot on.

My new Compact arrived today. The finish is very nice, cleaner than my slightly older one (about 18 months old?) - the grille is a much better fit. It looks great, and they look fantastic together. Just can't plug them in until the weekend...

My second Barefaced Compact's arrival is imminent, so up for sale is my Trace Elliot 1153 cab. Its well used (before I got it) and cosmetically a little rough (tarnished metal corners, the TE logo is missing etc) but plays beautifully. It was very highly rated by Town Bowlus in his 15" cab shoot out (you can read it [url="http://bowlusblog.blogspot.co.uk/2007/08/1x15-shootout.html"]here[/url]). I've been using it with my first Compact (first with an Ampeg PF500 and then a GK MB Fusion) and it sounds lovely - nice and deep and warm, it compliments the more middy Compact brilliantly. According to the previous owner it's got an upgraded 400W driver. It's never had any trouble keeping up with the Compact and if it wasn't for the weight I'd probably keep it and save some money! Having said that it's not a heavy beast by normal 15" standards and is an easy one-person lift, just not Barefaced easy! £100. I'f rather not post, so this is available for collection from Harrogate, or I'd be willing to deliver within a reasonable distance for petrol money. Yep, I'm a big fan. I also love Porter's playing with Snooks Eaglin, another New Orleans soul legend. Their version of Lipstick Traces ins one of my favourite Youtube clips.
