1. Hi All Bristol based 14 piece band Bring Down The House are playing at The Tunnels in Bristol on Friday 13th June. It should be a lot of fun. We are pleased to announce that we will have a special guest start joining us to sing a few numbers during the second set. None other than our own Christina Marie, runner up from The Voice 2014. Would be great to see fellow BC'ers there. Cheers Pete
2. Here's a link to a thread comparing the 102X and 202X Yamaha BB's. http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2394920 Essentially the 202X bases are hand made in Japan and have various treatments to the wood to artificially age the body internally to improve resonance etc. Step up from the 42X bases is basically better pickups and nickel silver nut I believe. I've got a BB1024 and a BB1024X and I'm looking for a BB1025X. I'm not sure that I could justify a 202X bass unless I came into a large sum of money :-) YMMV Pete
3. Signed. I've played at the Fleece on numerous occasions. It's part of the fabric of the live music scene in Bristol and needs to be retained.

5.
Just sent him a PM about the lead, what system are you using?
I use an Art MyMonitor (similar to the Samson S Monitor) when doing BV's or a Zoom B3 if I just want bass.
6. I got a cable made up by obbm which is a standard instrument cable and a stereo headphone cable which run side by side. The headphone bit terminates on a 3.5mm socket to plug my in ears into. That way you can have a powered personal monitor unit sitting on top of your amp and not have to worry about batteries.

GILLY

I met up with Will yesterday to complete purchase of a MarkBass combo and a trade of MB cabs. He was an absolute gent to deal with and the gear is immaculate! I would have no hesitation in dealing again in the future. Cheers, Pete
8. I'll be heading up to Lytham St Anne's during the middle of May if that helps anyone out who is interested? Cheers Pete
9. Alan bought a P-bass body and associated bits and pieces from me in a very straight forward transaction. Prompt payment and regular communication. What more could you ask for? Thanks, Pete
10. Could it be rack mounted into a shallow flight case? SKB XRack or similar?
11. Been using mine for the last couple of years with no issues. An AirTurn Bluetooth page turner makes it even better.
12. Bump for a final price drop to £325. Surely that's a bargain?
13. It's been a month type bump! I'll also be travelling north again to Sheffield on Monday if that's of any use to prospective buyers?
14. Thanks for everyone's responses so far. I should add that I'm lucky enough to own a BB1024 and a BB1024X so I'm thinking flats on one and rounds on the other. Perfect, right? Interested to hear from any BB owners who have fitted flats though. TI flats do seem to get a lot of love on this forum so maybe that's the way to go? Pete
15. Hi All I'm thinking of putting a set of flats on my Yamaha BB1024. I just wondered if any of you guys have done this and any recommendations as to brands? I was thinking perhaps a set of D'addario Chromes... Can I still string through the body with flats (given that the bass has the 45 degree through body setup) or would you advise against? Does anyone know what the string gauges as shipped are as I won't want to be messing with the nickel nut. Any wisdom graciously received. Many thanks in advance. Pete
16. I'd say that the key to playing repetitive lines is to keep at it (practice at slower speeds and build up your speed and stamina) and also try to relax so that you can play with a lighter touch, both with your fretting hand as well as your plucking hand. I'm having to learn 'Don't Stop Moving' for an upcoming show and had the same issues when I started playing it, but it's all good now. Cheers, Pete.
17. From your original post, I quite liked the name 'All Cheese'
18. Bump for a price drop to £350. If anyone is interested I'll be travelling from Bristol to Sheffield on Monday returning Tuesday if that helps anyone from a meeting up perspective. Cheers Pete
19. Number 1 would be my vote. If you are unsure re high notes etc then have an extended audition period and have him come along to the next two or three rehearsals before making a decision. This allows him to get to know the band and the band to get to know him and see if he continues to put the effort in and improve.

P-T-P's Feedback

Just picked up a lovely BB1024X from Pete. Just what I wanted and a very easy transaction. Would absolutely deal with Pete again. Cheers, Pete.
21. Guys Here we have a Lakland Skyline 44-01 in Sunburst with a maple neck which is somewhere between a jazz and precision width neck. Feels great to play and the maple has nice figuring to my eyes. The bass is in good condition with a few light playing marks and no obvious dents on the body. There are some marks where it has been played with a pick on the body near the neck pickup and some light scratches through normal use (not enough to show up in photos) and a couple of small marks on the headstock. Pictures available at the link below: https://www.icloud.c.../#A1GWZuqDt4dzg The bass is a mid 2000's model (I think), made in Korea and has the push pull volume switch to go between active and passive modes. The currently fitted Schaller strap locks will be replaced with the original strap buttons. Collection from North Bristol preferred although I am happy to meet half way with anyone up to an hours drive from Bristol if required. Tradewise I'm currently interested in a Squier Matt Freeman (oly white) and cash my way or perhaps a Warwick Corvette? Thanks for looking. Please PM with any questions etc. Pete
22. Ultimax every time. I use their speaker and lighting stands. They say that they are virtually indestructible in normal use. http://www.ultimax1.com I've been a very happy customer. Pete.
23. Use an electric drum kit and a JamHub? http://www.jamhub.com I've got one and it's a great bit of kit. I'm in Bristol if you want a demo. Cheers, Pete.
