1. I have this exact rig and am very pleased with either the combo on its own or using the extension cab. Having the top speaker that much higher and closer to your ears is definitely good. I usually have the horn on the lower speaker off.
2. Hi All I just purchased a very nice Yamaha BB1024X in Vintage White from Andy. The bass came promptly and was very well packaged and was exactly as described. Great comms and very painless transaction. I'm a happy Basschatter. :-) Pete
3. I've used cable ties which have a place to write a name on them. Similar to these.. 4. Hi Guys I received my new bass strap from Karl (Thanks Karl!) on Saturday morning and I have to say that I am extremely impressed. The leather is soft and supple and the attention to detail is just first class with the finish and stitching all being excellent. Very comfortable to wear and of course made exactly to the measurements supplied. The revised shape means that the strap now sits nice and flat down my back. I would add that the stitching on my strap appears more of a contrast colour than the photos would suggest (so slightly darker) however I think that this looks really good. This could of course be a trick of the light from the photos though. I can see that it wont be long before I order a matching strap in Black. Cheers Pete
5. Thanks Owen, good point. Still available at the moment. I've also added another for sale thread with SRM450's and SWA1501 subs listed if anyone is interested. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/248323-more-mackie-pa-gear-for-sale-all-with-bagscovers/ Cheers Pete
6. Guys Further to my thread regarding three Mackie SRM350's which I have for sale... http://basschat.co.u...ie-padded-bags/ I also have the following Mackie Active speakers for sale. All in good used condition and complete with official Mackie bags for the speakers or covers for the Subs. [s]5 x Mackie Version 1 SRM450's. (These are the supposedly 'better' Italian speakers) £250 £220 each please. 3 x Mackie SWA1501 Subs £300 £250 each please. 1 x Mackie SWA1501 Sub (Spares or repair) This one has a faulty preamp board which after a period of being on results in pops and bangs from the speaker. I haven't got around to getting this fixed yet. A complete amp repair service is available for £150 from an eBay seller so if anyone wants this one for £150 £100 then I'd be happy with that.[/s] All now SOLD, thanks. Cheers Pete
7. Hi Guys I am starting to move on some of my Mackie Active PA speakers. First up I have three Version 1 Mackie SRM350's complete with the official Mackie padded speaker bags. http://www.mackie.com/products/srm350/ Tech specs and further details are in the Mackie Owners manual available at http://www.mackie.co...f/srm350_om.pdf Suffice to say, these are nominally 200W active speakers in a small and reasonably lightweight case and do a great job when used as a small vocal PA (or for slightly larger gigs when paired to a Mackie Active 1501 sub which I also have for sale). Also suitable as vocal floor monitors or for keyboards. These speakers have had reasonably light use and always been transported in their bags so are in decent condition. Collection only please (or possible local meet up) from just north of Bristol. [s]I'm looking for £180 £150 each please.[/s] SOLD Thanks for looking. Pete
8. Right, my update. I was able to get a good hour of trying the strap out and comparing it to my existing strap before managing to catch the post to get it to Edster. I'll echo the other comments regarding the quality and feel of the leather, it's really nice looking and feeling. I like the adjustment method using the press studs and for me with the adjustment set at its shortest length the overall strap length was perfect. The added bonus of easily being able to attach a wireless pouch at this point was good. (Obviously I'll need a matching leather pouch to match the strap if I went for the brown leather :-) ) In terms of the width over the shoulder, I also wear my bass at about 45 degrees so the part of the strap which goes over my shoulder was just before it got to its widest point (about half an inch narrower at that point) so I'd agree that the overall strap could be slightly narrower overall. My only point of concern was that (similar to pictures previously posted) the left hand side of the strap as it runs down my back doesn't sit flat and you get what I can only describe as a fluted effect to the shape. I had no concerns with the way the bass balanced or felt whilst playing and I just wonder if this is related to the pre-curved shape of the strap and whether this could be improved by either reducing the amount of curvature or just making the strap straight? Overall though, loads of support and I can imagine that this strap would be immensely comfortable to wear for long gigs. I'll be interested to see what the overall consensus is and what the final product looks like. Thanks for the opportunity to try it. Cheers Pete
9. I've just received the strap from Liam so I'll have a play around with it later and then post my thoughts. It looks absolute quality though!
