1. I'd support the better singer view of a lot of previous posters to this thread. Hiring both definitely gives the band more options though. My own function band has three girls fronting the band (2 lead and 1 BV), all under 32. Imagine my surprise last year when each of the two leads announced that they were pregnant within one month of another. What with that and my other half (who plays keys) in the band also falling pregnant it's been an interesting 18 months. Band socials are more like a mother and toddler group at the moment... :-)
2. Hi Guys Withdrawing this bass for now as there is an issue with the pickup selector switch which will need replacing before I can confidently sell it with no issue. This is a Yamaha BB2025 in a Natural finish. In excellent condition, complete with Yamaha branded hard case. A few small marks from being played and general use but nothing that the camera would pick up. Pics available at https://www.icloud.c...#A15n8hH4GdM1GU Weighs in at around 9lb 7 3/4oz on my kitchen scales. (Edit. Added a couple of pics showing the scales for verification.) Very versatile PJ format and lovely neck which is described as a flattened C profile I think. Only thinking of moving this on as it's too nice a bass to be played down at the Dog & Duck and I could do with releasing some funds. Trade wise, a BB1025 or BB1025X in the tobacco burst or Caramel finish would be my preference with cash making up the balance or alternatively (and this is a long shot I know) a Yamaha SLB200... Price reduced to £1250 as I've seen something else that I like. That has to be a bargain for one of these? I would prefer collection or meetup within a 1 hour drive of just North of Bristol please. Please PM me with any questions. Cheers Pete

Adee's feedback

Met up with Ade to complete the sale of a BB1024X. Very nice guy to deal with and we agreed a meet mid-way which involved the best part of an hour an a half's drive each way for both of us. You can't ask for better than that. :-)
4. Now on hold pending a meet up on Sunday. :-)
5. Bump for a great do it all bass (I just don't need both a BB1024 and a BB1024X and I really need another 5'er).
6. Hi Guys [s]Selling[/s] SOLD a Yamaha BB1024X in Vintage White. In great condition, complete with Yamaha branded gig bag. A few small marks from being played and general use but no big dings or scrapes. Pics available at https://www.icloud.c...#A15n8hH4GdM1GU Weighs in at around 10lb on my kitchen scales but doesn't seem that heavy on the strap. Very versatile PJ format and lovely neck. Approx 40mm at the nut. Only selling as I have ended up playing a 5 string in both bands at the moment so am looking for another 5'er so that I have a backup (a BB1025 would be ideal). Shipping at cost is possible but I would prefer collection or meetup within a 1 hour drive of just North of Bristol please. Please PM me with any questions. Cheers Pete
7. I've gone to an all Yamaha setup (DXR12's over DXS15 SUBS and DXR10's for monitors) and it's a marked improvement over my previous Mackie setup (not to mention lighter). I don't find the vocals particularly harsh although I'm aware that I could spend more money and improve things further but for now I'm happy. The 10's with a sub also seem to work well. I was also sold on the reliability aspect along with the 7 year warranty. I also play in a 4 piece where the vocalist has the slightly cheaper Yamaha DBR 12's which he is very happy with.
8. Hi mrtcat We've just updated our promo video using a live gig partially synced to some demo tracks that we had already cut and whilst it's not a Pro job, I'm pretty happy that it represents the show that the band puts on reasonably well. Cost for this was very reasonable (PM me for details and contact info). The girls are based in Cardiff I think but will travel and are looking to expand their portfolio. Given that the vast majority of our gigs are through word of mouth rather than the web site it seemed a reasonable stap without spending a fortune. Video is on our home page at www.bringdownthehouse.org Cheers Pete
9. For a wired solution I use an Art MyMonitor. http://artproaudio.com/artcessories/headphone_amps/product/mymonitor/ Works great.
10. He came, he saw, he left with my Mackie PA. Alex was great to deal with and all communications and payment etc were prompt and as agreed. I couldn't ask for a nicer Basschatter to do business with. Thanks Alex! Cheers Pete
11. Tim purchased a Yamaha BB1024X from me. Great comms and prompt payment. A perfect BC transaction. Thanks!
12. Hi John iReal Pro will do what you want but is £9.99 I believe. http://irealpro.com/ iReal b was the cheaper option but not sure that it is available any more. Pete
13. Hi Mike The fault shows up after 20-30 minutes of use. I believe that it must be some kind of issue with the input board as I was able to reproduce it having had the amp out to look for poor connections or cold joints. Yes it comes with a cover. It's in reasonable used condition. Worst case you could remove the amp and convert it to passive I guess. Pete
14. Hi Guys Consolidation of my Mackie PA sale thread: I have available: [s]Three Version 1 Mackie SRM350's complete with the official Mackie padded speaker bags. £150 each please[/s] SOLD http://www.mackie.com/products/srm350/ Tech specs and further details are in the Mackie Owners manual available at http://www.mackie.co...f/srm350_om.pdf Suffice to say, these are nominally 200W active speakers in a small and reasonably lightweight case and do a great job when used as a small vocal PA (or for slightly larger gigs when paired to a Mackie Active 1501 sub). Also suitable as vocal floor monitors or for keyboards. These speakers have had reasonably light use and always been transported in their bags so are in decent condition. Collection only please (or possible local meet up) from just north of Bristol. [s]1 x Mackie SWA1501 Sub with padded cover £250[/s] SOLD I also have: [s]1 x Mackie SWA1501 Sub (Spares or repair) This one has a faulty preamp board which after a period of being on results in pops and bangs from the speaker. I haven't got around to getting this fixed yet. A complete amp repair service is available for £150 from an eBay seller so if anyone wants this one for £100 then I'd be happy with that.[/s] SOLD Please PM for any additional info. Thanks for looking. Pete
15. Replied. Sorry, I already have sourced a White version of this bass.
16. Hi Guys I have a mint Yamaha BB1024X in Caramel Brown up for sale. I've had a good look over the bass and cannot see any marks apart from some light scratches on the pick guard as you would expect from the bass having been played. The bass comes with a Hiscox Yamaha branded hard case. Collection from North Bristol preferred or shipping at cost. Pics available at https://www.icloud.c...#A15n8hH4GdM1GU I'm only selling as I fancied a vintage white version and owning two of these lovely basses seems selfish :-) These really are awesome basses to play, neck width slightly between a Jazz and a Precision and the 3 position pickup selector switch allows a range of sounds. Straight sale preferred although I could be tempted with a trade involving a BB1025X. Any questions, please get in touch. Thanks Pete
17. I just tried it with my B3 and a Y cable and all seems to work fine. At the end of the day you are just putting two audio inputs together.
18. Would using a headphone splitter (Y cable) with headphones in one side and MP3 player in the other work?
19. The bags each come with a free speaker :-) Seriously though, no I don't want to sell the cases independently of the speakers. Sorry.
