1. Just bought Phil's Deluxe Active P-Bass Special. Very nice bass in excellent condition and Phil is a thoroughly nice chap to deal with.
 2.
I have a pair of original european (it's where the tone is, don'tchya'know) Mackie SRM450 that I am looking to trade for either a pair of SRM350 or db opera 410 D. You know that you need a bigger and heftier speaker in your life.
Hi I've got a pair of Mackie SRM350's in Mackie Bags which are in excellent condition but not being used as much these days which I would be up for trading. Whereabouts are you based? (I'm in Bristol) PM me if you want to discuss further. Cheers Pete
 3. Can I be cheeky and add myself to this list too? Based in Bristol. Thanks Pete

 7. Here's pic's of the 'Ikea wedge stand' in action. Sorry for the poor quality of the photos. Pete
 8. I use a cut down version of this underneath my Aggie GS112 and LMII. It flexes a bit but seems man enough to support the cab and amp no problem. When travelling to and from gigs it sits on the cab under the padded cover. I made it slightly narrower so that it didn't stick out either side of the cab. The cut off strip I use on the top of the cab to stop the amp slipping backwards as there's a convenient lip which fits over the front of the cab and then provides a lip to support the back of the amp. I'll post some pics of it in action if anyones interested. There, bet you never know that Ikea catered for bassists Pete

 10.
Hi! Is this bass still available? Thanks v.
Sorry, the bass is now sold. Thanks for your interest though. Cheers Pete
 11. Up for sale is this great example of an SX Precision Currently strung with Status Hotwire flats and has a spiral barreled bridge and a Wizard Thumper pickup. Originally bought from another basschatter (neilb) who will attest to how great this bass sounds I'm sure. :-) I believe the bass was shipped from Rondo Music in the US. This bass has been mainly used for home practice and for a couple of gigs playing as part of the house band supporting a local choir. It's great and gives a lovely thumpy sound, but I've decided that I prefer jazz style necks and as I've just recently aquired a new Mex Classic 70's Jazz this just isn't going to get the use it deserves. The bass is in excellent condition with just a few light scratches on the pick guard and a tiny tiny dent in the top of the headstock (which isn't really worth mentioning but means I can't list the bass as 'mint' :-) ) (It has sold me on flats though, so I'm definitely going to string one of my Jazz basses with flats). I'm looking for £130 collected or P&P at cost. I'm willing to arrange a meet up to 1 hours drive from Bristol if that helps. Cheers Pete
 12. I'd be more than happy to make a contribution.
 13.
Thinking about getting a cover or two for my Aguilar cabs after getting one really wet the other day... My problem is I just want something thin and light that I can fold away when I'm not using them. Most covers seem a bit ridgid. Anyone know of anything? Karl
Hi Karl I managed to knock up a couple of cheap covers for my pair of GS112's (co-incidentally) by picking up some faux leather fabric from Hobbycraft and badgering my mum to get her sewing machine out to make two simple drop over covers. The bonus is that this fabric appears to be fairly waterproof (apart from the small hole in the top to allow the cab handle to poke through and was cheap. (Less than a tenner to do both cabs). Cheers Pete
 14.
A note of thanks to Greg who gave me a taster lesson on his DB this evening - top bloke and very much appreciated, cheers Greg! Now I need something to play on... Haven't progressed the workshop idea though - are folks still up for it?
Definitely count me in for the workshop session if it goes ahead. Cheers Pete
 15. Actually, how about a DB Workshop where a group of wannabe DB players could turn up. (I'm another who is thinking of taking the plunge and based in Bristol) :-) Just askin...
Would anyone volunteer to give a taster to a complete noobie?
16. Just bought Andy's Zoom H2 recorder. Arranged a halfway meet, comms were excellent and Andy is a thoroughly nice chap to deal with. Cheers Pete

 18. I've got the mp3 version and think it's great! You can add loads of mp3's onto it split into different folders for different projects etc. Set up a playlist of tunes and put it in gig order if you like. Enhance or remove the bass from recorded tracks. Speed up and slow down stuff and change pitch etc at will. If mine ever dies (it's decond hand off a fellow basschatter) and its looking well used now, I would definitely get another. Tascam have a version out now that's a recorder as well. Pricey, but could be even more useful... YMMV etc, etc.
 19. I've needed to look for some Tab's to learn some tunes for the rock covers band I'm playing in. Universally I've found that the majority of Tabs available seem to be either wrong or incomplete. I can read notation if that's available, or slowly work stuff out by listening so no problem really. I've read numerous other posts on this forum with the same comments regarding how inaccurate most tabs are. Are we all as bassists reading these tabs and then making the corrections but not posting them somewhere when we have done the work to make them right? If that's true then surely lots of us are just spending loads of times working out the same tunes for ourselves. Would it be possible to share the (correct) knowledge of Basschatters somewhere with all of the correct versions of these tunes (for educational purposes)? Just askin...
