    I prefer the first of the three options. The maple is a good contrast from both the limba and the wedge, so makes an ideal 'seperator' between the two. The addition of the ebony is a serves no real purpose other than to make it look a bit more cluttered IMO.

    It's so wrong it's kind of right! It would be Interesting to hear what it sounds like. I suspect neck dive may be an issue. And verbal abuse at gigs.

    Sometimes people just become naturally biased against certain brands without any proper reason. I think it's often based on looks. For example, I wouldn't go for Hartke or GK, Im sure they're great, but some irrational part of me has decided that they are not for me.

    Does your Vintage have a P type scratch plate or just a P pickup shaped hole in he body? If it's the latter, you'd be best to avoid the type of pickups with the larger metal base plate, as it won't fit in the hole.
