  1. I missed this, thanks for the heads up, I'll get it on catchup. I really like Grizzly Bear, very inventive and somewhat odd. The video to 'The Knife' being a good example of extreme oddness! http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=xuYZbYtAl9A&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DxuYZbYtAl9A

  3. The main reason I do it is because I can't be arsed to get the amp out of the cupboard, although I do sometimes play through the aux on my digital radio. You're right though, playing unplugged really cleans up one's technique, as rattles and buzzes are much more obvious.
  4. Am I the only one who practices unplugged?
  5. Great stuff. I love the bassline, and rhyming 'ruckus' with 'm*****f***ers' is inspired.
  6. It looks very much like poplar/tulipwood to me
  7. Lovely cab. Someone buy this and unleash its potential please. (Nice DHA pedal btw ;-)
  8. My old band 'auditioned' for this a couple of years ago. We had to travel to Leicester for 8pm as instructed, and played to an empty pub at midnight, only to be told that we could had to play at another Leicester-based audition a month later. We didn't bother. The general conclusion was that they used these 'auditions' to get bands to play for free.
  9. This thread just makes me more excited about my incoming 69er. 6x10 and 65lbs. :-)
  10. 'Butchered' is too good a word. Butchery is a skilled and noble profession. Someone has hewn this bass into the likeness of a depressed sheep.
  11. No worries. It's a great thread for a potential buyer.

  13. The Meters' 'Rejuvination' Parliament's 'Mothership Connection'
  14. This Magnatone is too cool for school. Love it... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/187304-original-1965-magnatone-hurricane-bass-l1700/
  15. If you are an aspiring band, you might want to be careful, because if you are then offered a publishing deal, the publishers may not be too happy about this licensing agreement. Other than than, it's a great and easy way to get your stuff out there, and get paid for it!
  16. Not seen one in that colour before - really nice looking bass
  17. I've never sold a bass on Basschat. Then again, I've never tried :-) I have bought one though. Things I'd look for when buying are - - The right bass for me at a fair price (obviously) - Having some confidence in the seller. Do they have feedback, or if new, have they gone to the trouble of introducing themselves to the forum/posting in the other forums - detailed info in the ad, including plenty of pics and descriptions. Where do they live, can I try the bass out, will they deliver etc. It's a buyers market at the moment, so the seller needs to pull out all the stops. Half hearted sales usually end up being a waste of tim :-)
  18. Select the picture and you should see a link/chain symbol top right. Click that and select 'copy link to clipboard' and paste that into Basschat
  19. You can get it free from Appstore
  20. iPad is pretty easy if you have the Dropbox app. Take pics on iPad camera, upload to dropbox public folder and use that link for the Basschat images
  21. Hi, Those are great, but that's too much of a trade up for me. Thanks
  22. A band where you can make the drummer turn down?! Excellent idea Welcome
