One of my clients has, as part of his audio setup, a 'mains conditioner' which cost around £2k He tried to explain what it does, but I got a bit lost.

The ZVex Mastotron sounds great, is reasonably priced, and works well with active basses. I've heard differing accounts as to whether the Mastotron is technically 'gated' but it certainly has that sound - the Waveform knob when fully clockwise sounds really 'pinched' BTW, I'm just buying an Oxide at the moment, and will have a play and keep my favourite, so I'll have one of them on the market soon

No brainer. You paid the agreed price for the instrument, and then paid for someone to deliver it to your door. That delivery money is gone, spent, irredeemable.

I ordered the Vein Tap last night, with the custom layout, and it's now completed and in in the post!

It happens to be for sale, so you won't be surprised to hear me say that it sounds gorgeously even yet ballsy, and you couldn't imagine an easier 6x10 to get about. It's a one hand lift. Check the FS forum for more details, but alas I don't have the materials to package it up for courier :-(

A (P) ashtray doesn't fit over a Badass (III), I've tried :-(

Thanks DB. My ideal pedal would have input/output on one side and send/return on the other. I've contact both bright onion an vein tap to get a price. I can't imagine it would be a difficult mod!
