1. Loved it. I have some of his music- not much, but I can listen to the guy talk forever. A passionate performer too.
2. I distinctly remember hearing the intro to The Prisoner on The Friday Rock Show and having to write the title down. (I wrote it on one of those black cards where you scratched the black away to reveal white underneath) Run to the Hills was an iconic drum intro- still is. Sad news. RIP Clive.
3. I caught this thread this morning and immediately posted a link to my FB page- a great tune, played superbly. Lovely guitarist to boot. I have some YouTube listening to do. Thanks for a great post :-)
4. Heeeelp. This thread is a mirror of my mind at the moment. It was the Scott Devine video that resonated with me yesterday- his words could have been mine (not his playing though more's the pity)- always been a jazz bass guy and then have played, and loved my avatar bass for over 10 years. I got the urge a few months back- it's a midlife thing for sure. I just feel the need for 4 strings and that tone that the P bass offers. It will happen, of this I am sure
5. The follow-up ad has loads of Eartha Kitts. Vile processed chicken feet.
6. I prefer to read in Gb when it comes to the loadsa accidentals key sigs- I find Cbs easier to read
7. One thing I will say is that if you hear Zawinul you know it's him. He had/has a sonic identity. There's another band name for you :-)
8. Listening to it through iPad speakers- so already hindered- I'd say the 3x I Had a Dream bit is something like F / C/E / I G / / / I F/A / C/G/ I F / C/E / I F/A / C/G / I Em / / / I with a D on the and of 2 in the last bar of Em (couldn't work out how to notate it!)
9. I've enjoyed seeing MarloweDK's online career flourish. He was a standout 'unknown' YT bassist back in the day- I guess now the expectation of him has changed but before the signature bass, DVD and popular website he was just a good guy putting videos on YouTube which showcased a great, relaxed feel. Now he is seen as a teacher and therefore compared to the likes of Scott Devine and Dave Marks who IMHO are better teachers. Good on him though- I am still a fan of his playing and feel. He comes across as a decent chap (but you can tell its a job now- a bit of the joy has gone from his playing) I enjoy Sandokanbass, Knightmayorz is someone who I have followed for a while who has got better and better and before MarloweDK a guy called Stefanof uploaded some great stuff (2006)- not innovative, just well executed, good feel and articulation etc. Check out jcsgroove too- another great guy and a player with a good groove. The 2 Joy to the World Sharay clips are sublime. Recently I have loved the vibe and interplay on the Michael League trio videos. Just my two penneth.
10. What an amazing, fascinating legend of a man/musician/bass player. I could listen to him for hours- both his talking and playing. The only time I've seen him live was with Toto and he was a rock.
11. Please feel free to leave feedback on sales or purchases :-)
12. Just bought John's Lakland- a very swift transaction. Price agreed, details exchanged, money transferred, bass couriered. No fuss. Carlsberg don't do bass purchases, but if they did.... (edited for typo)
13. It's another Basschat bass! 4 owners and still barely a year old. What a tart :-)
14. I remember lusting after this bass many years ago- either on here or eBay I can't remember which. Any more info on spec? String spacing, weight, scale length- 34" or 35"? It's a beauty.
15.
Yep - spotted that too.
At the expense of the Mike Lull 4 string review It was the first thing I flicked to.
16. I'm withdrawing this bass for the time being- having sold another bass already I'm giving this another chance after giving it a decent set-up at The Gallery. If after that I still don't enjoy playing it, it goes back on sale for the same price but with the benefit of a decent set-up!
17.
Lovely that, Rich!
I knew I recognised your username Martin but the penny didn't drop- just had to look up some of your posts and then I saw the Pedulla
18. Thanks guys. Its funny but seeing the pics made be think twice about selling it at first, but truth be told I'm not playing it enough these days to warrant keeping it. I'm looking at a sale only at the moment.
19. And yes I want to post a link to this on FBook but I fear he may hunt me down and kill me. Great ranting though.

21. I would imagine it has a medium set-up. Sorry for sitting on the fence. Ultimately it's all adjustable.
22. Lakland 55-02 with Bartolini p'ups and pre. Very good condition. Now SOLD
