1. I for one feel that on my Lakland with it's 35" scale, what you gain in a taut, non-flapping B string you lose somewhat in (IMO) over-taut D+G strings. I guess this system solves that problem.
 2.
Check out Bobby Vega....... what a groove, and he's only "messing about"!!!
Whoooaa!! What a great player- never checked him out before. Great groove with or without the pick.
 3. I just bought Homer's Lakland Joe Osborn with J-Retro deluxe. Very pleased with the feel of it- it's not a Sadowsky killer but I prefer it to the Fenders I've tried. The 35" scale makes it a different instrument altogether- a lot more taut. If you could pick up a decent 2nd hand 4 string JO you would come out with a lot of change from 1K. A superior bass to the KSDs IMO.
 4.
but I find the plain white scratch plate on my Lakland Duck Dunn rather bland and uninspiring. It needs enhancing. With what should I replace it? Mirror? Black? Gold anodised? Help me out here.
I'm picking up Alan's CAR JO5 tomorrow- I think it used to be yours? Anyway, that has a mint green guard I believe but I'm considering white pearloid or clear perspex on that. Whenever I see white on red I'm reminded of Hank Marvin *shudder*
 5. Feels like home! Congrats to all those involved- nice work guys.
