I think if it was in pink it would make it look more like a spoofy glam rock thing, which would make it cool!

My heart literally stopped beating before I read the 'not really' part

Really??

The bomber is just f***ing ridiculous what were they thinking?

Go for the front ported 2x10, throws out the low end better and it seems louder than the others... The 102HF cab has a better tweeter in it than the combo, if you actually use yours.

Weirdly enough, the missus has banned me from wearing the cow suit, but she's the one who made me up for that last photo -

Playing the smallest and most massive rig ever! Dressed as my favourite source of food And as my favourite thing to sex -
I almost responded to this with a 'No'... But then I remembered the slowly growing GAS list in my sig
Just had a really lovely gig with Kit at the Half Moon in Putney. Clarky, thanks so much for coming! And for taking pics! Great to see you mate.
Those gloves are actually pretty stylish dude -

I've played through a Peavey 1x15 before, it was bliss... Carrying it wasn't as nice... but it was worth it! -
Stacking 2x10's vertically instead of horizontally?
chrismuzz replied to molan's topic in Amps and Cabs
Why on earth would I want to do that? The volume of the bass is balanced just right for the band (which is loud) so I don't want to turn down or blow my ears out with a cab behind my head. Sorry guys, but my rig is good as it is.
I've tried vertically stacking 2x10s and it didn't work for me either mate! I use a dreaded 4x10 and wouldn't change it for the world.... Well... until I get a 2x10 to stack on top... HORIZONTALLY -
With some trepidation....here's my first go at recording using the B3. Excuse the dodgy playing, tragic guitar sound and general crapness. Done in a bit of a rush on a very old 8 track (my PC is way too slow for DAW unfortunately). thats enough excuses. Any suggestions for improving the recorded bass tone (other than learn how to play better? ). After a bit of fiddling about I went for DCOMP> > Graphic EQ> SVT/810 and Stingray with pick (how else? ). Too compressed? What do you reckon? http://soundcloud.co...wsun/rough-idea
Sounds good to me mate especially for a first go! Playing's definitely tight enough I'd say. Very nice tone even if I would have had a little more top to it if it was me. Unless its the compression darkening it a little? Personal preference is just that though!
First in the diary gets the booking.
Yep, totally! I've always been in at least two bands and this is the golden rule. I also make it clear to bands that I will absolutely not be available to rehearse 2-3 times a week. I get the songs/tabs/guitar pro files sent to me and I practice at home! One practice every so often is great as you do need to make sure you're working with eachother and performing well and stuff... But paying out loads of money going over the same songs over and over again is pointless if you're all dedicated enough to do it at home
I like that, good thoughtful choice of what not to replace with the B3.
Thanks I was actually a bit tempted to replace the compressor too because the B3 ones are very impressive!

Stacking 2x10's vertically instead of horizontally?
chrismuzz replied to molan's topic in Amps and Cabs
It's interesting that TC Electronics specifically make their cabs for vertical stacking, but don't seem to make a huge deal about it. -

That is wonderful hahaha!

After hearing Hartke's LH series amps in action, the low price completely baffles me!

To be fair, if I got a good sound having two horizontal 2x10s side by side on the floor of the stage I would do it
Maybe I'll need two, a bit of gentle compression at the start of the chain, with a slow attack to allow the peaks through when I hit the strings, and a bit more of a limiter at the end to bring the level back up. Damn, this is getting complicated! EDIT: either that or Im over thinking this...
Don't worry I've seen some ridiculously complicated setups in my time! If it does everything you need it to,and a little of what you want but don't necessarily need then it's perfect! I've spent years working at getting the simplest, most convenient, but greatest sounding rig I could Passive bass > small(ish) pedalboard > super clean, lightweight amp!
Cheers! The VT is touch sensitive enough that Im thinking about putting a compressor after it, so when Im playing cleaner without digging in I get some of the volume back. Either that or in parallel, to allow some of the clean to get through. I'll have to have a play and see what I like.
Yeah I tried putting the compressor after my Sansamp and it was really cool how you could get different sounds with different degrees of attack Weirdly enough, with the Aguilar I still achieve a different tone from digging in, as if the sound was uncompressed! I just don't get a massive peak in volume. Don't have a clue how it works but it's really nice! Compressor is back to being first in my chain:D
Or, in response to those gear nurds you get at gigs a logo that said what_the_f**k_are_you_looking_at? In small writing, obviously.
I need to get a t shirt printed that says "I'm just here to stalk your gear"
