Guitar forum. It's hilarious over there at the minute. They have the strictest "No politics" rule ever, and are trying to have discussions about what tariffs will do to them. It's a place where people have been suspended for a week simply for asking IF they can make a thread on a particular subject! -

They probably made a very attractive offer because of the advertising revenue TGP gets. -

One of the biggest forums in the world with a massive amount of users and ad revenue. -
Obviously I don't know about the OP, but for me it would be concerns about workers rights, conditions, equal treatment, pay that doesn't mean needing more than one job. So that really rules out a lot of the USA!

I was properly surprised - my eldest arranged it. It's expensive so she spoke to pretty much everyone who would have got me a gift: wife, other kids, parents, brother, even the Mother in Law! Funnily enough this challenge is making me think about the stuff I have but hardly ever use - and thinking about selling to make some room in the house. I've got 8 basses and I really only play half of them, I've got so many pedals but again only use my favourites. Some are cheap, others expensive but it's kind of dead money sitting there. Even for guitar use, it's usually just a fuzz, vibe, delay and that's about it - cliché Hendrix but I like it. It's giving me an extra layer of thought - almost moving instantly from "Looks fun to I want it" to "Yeah, but I'll probably sell it within a year"

Yesterday I discovered that my family have clubbed together to get me a Line 6 HX Stomp for my birthday, which is in a few weeks. I have wanted one for some time. It wasn't solicited, but they did know I want one. It's been in my Amazon wishlist for about 3 years! Is that a fail?

https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/exciting-news-verticalscope-acquires-thegearpage-net-meet-your-new-community-management-team.2636211/ You'll need an account so this is the message: "Hello everyone! We’re thrilled to announce that TheGearPage has officially joined the VerticalScope family! On behalf of the entire Community Management team, we’d like to extend a warm welcome to all of you. We’re here to support the ongoing operation and growth of TheGearPage, and we want to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and share what you can expect moving forward. Who Are We? VerticalScope is a network of vibrant online communities, and our community management team is dedicated to making the work of forum moderators and administrators easier and more effective. What Do We Do? Community is at the heart of everything we do. Our top priorities are continuity, stability, and providing the resources needed to help TheGearPage thrive for many years to come. We’ll work alongside volunteer moderators and administrators to enhance member engagement, increase reach, attract new members, and continuously improve the overall community experience. What Will Change? From a cultural perspective, very little will change. You may see our Terms of Service and Privacy Policies being implemented, but they’re aligned with what you’re already familiar with. On the technical side, you can expect some ad changes, along with software updates and improvements to the site over the coming months, aimed at enhancing performance. You’ll also gain access to additional resources, including community management support for forum-related technical issues. Rest assured, our focus remains on community, and we’re here to make sure the platform remains stable, well-maintained, and ready to meet the needs of its members. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out! We’re excited to work alongside the members, moderators, and administrators of this community and are genuinely happy to be a part of this journey with you. Warm regards, The VerticalScope Community Team" Apparently they also own many others including: TDPRI, SevenString, Rig-Talk, Gretsch-Talk, and Squier-Talk. It seems that many members are not happy...

That's a shame - I fancy trying one myself. I have a L6 Stomp incoming now so I'm hoping that will do me for a while. I've had a Helix rack since they first came out so I'm well used to setting up sounds in that system. Should be here on Saturday so I'm looking forward to a weekend of playing and patch creation.

That depends on whether US companies making things outside of the US are covered. If there was anyone mentally competent / stable in the White House that isn't a pet we'd know that already.
-
I've just looked at my basket - it's gone down to £566.36. Probably due exchange rate alterations. Until UK tariffs are done in retaliation it shouldn't affect us. USA tariffs don't affect us buying USA goods. We'll need our own tariffs for that.

I love my Sandbergs. Very pleased with them.

It’s a Sterling not a stingray. And it’s actually inspired by an old passive copy of one that Vulfpeck had, that they particularly liked for recording. So other than things like EVH’s frankenstrat it’s about the first signature model based on something dirt cheap.

Might not be as easy as I thought. The proper USA ones are usually between 7lb and 7.5lb, but it seems that the Sterlings are much closer to 9lb, and unfortunately that's too much for me these days. All but 1 of my basses are under 7lb. aaarrrrgggghhhhhh

I have wifely permission! Bow before my negotiation skills! (Also, I have to do a lot of DIY round the house).

I am in serious negotiations with MrsF. Just the single bucker in natural will do for me.

Classical Thump. I spent about a year on that and I just couldn't get the parts to work together. I hardly ever slap now, and when I do it's 1970s disco type rather than Mr Wooten style.
