  1. That's very nice. Love a maple neck. GLWTS.
  2. no probs at all.
  3. Thanks for that Phil but that wasn't my quote you replied to so no idea what's happened there. I was curious to know tho so much appreciated and that makes a lt of sense. Dave
  4. oddly enough its the vocals that overload my ears when too loud. Guitar, bass or drums even keys i never have a prob with but certain male vocals in certain songs i just start to feel uncomfortable. Not the actual singing of course just the frequencies. Dave
  5. Of your P basses do you have a fav ?
  6. Don't know the exact theoretical answer but for me you feel 15"'s more than 10's so perhaps you just felt as tho they were louder. Just a thought Dave
  7. I didn't realise he had lost his battle. Such a shame he seemed to put up a good fight too. So sorry to hear that. Dave
  8. Until a new band gels by playing several gigs they need to remain focused on their playing. Once a few gigs under their belt they should be able to relax a bit and just enjoy the show. You can rehearse as much as you like in the hope things will always be perfect but its live gigs that really tighten up a band. IMHE. Dave
  9. Losing focus after taking a relaxing short break maybe ? I find our band can be like that when long gaps between rehearsals yet when we have 2 or 3 in a trot they all go really well even after a coffee break. Try not takng a break see how it goes. If its a 3 hr session like most studios do it'll take the drummer 30mins to set up and same to dismantle which only leaves 2hrs playing. That's basically a one set timescale. Dave
  10. And there's me thinking the tone of the 15" was just sweeter.
  11. Likewise its just a great place to hang out and have a blether, get things of your chest and offer any help, advice you can. I've gained loads of information from the guys on here. I enjoy the posts where people offer help with gear like your own situation. It gives you a sense of pride and a happy feeling to know that people will lend gear to complete strangers who are having a bit of a hard time. You hope that others would do the same for you if you ever needed it. The words of support you get can bring a tear to your eye at times. So many touching stories on the forum and hopefully the comments help that person get thru a difficult time. We've had people going thru difficult medical issues and letting us know what going on in their life and the comments seem to help them get thru it. Its just a great place to be. Dave
  12. Nowt wrong with his handle. I think its exceptional. altho i prefer the Scottish version with the reverse d (dmccombe7)
  13. For many years i used the mixed cab combination of 1x15 & 2x10's. Never had any issues. From custom rigs thru Peavey to TE to Orange all sounded great......but heavy. More recently i've used a 12 instead of the 10's and that was ok. My Berg cab is the 1x12 + 2x10's + horn and its a nice clean warm sound with plenty of punch. It can depend on what style of music you are playing. I used the 1x15 & 2x10 rigs for rock and prog. I currently use a Mesa 212 cab for my 70's Glam covers band as it has that older vintage tone where mid punch isn't needed as much. Use my Berg HT322 when bigger venues require it or no PA support. Dave
  14. Thought someone would have jumped at having one of these in MINT condition at this price. Where's all the GK love these days. ? Powerful, reliable and well laid out with great features. What more do you need in a bass amp ? Dave
  15. Keep getting trade offers but prefer cash sale kinda BUMP
  16. You must be very talented ..... or you know people 🤣 I’m gonna go with talented tho...... out of respect of course. All the very best for it again. Dave
  17. We do the lunch thing too on the rare 6hr sessions and it’s a more relaxed rehearsal in many ways. Sore fingers by the end but that’s acceptable if I play hard altho these days I play a fair bit lighter
  18. Geddy Lee. I started playing bass around 76 and his aggressive tone is what changed my playing style from pick to finger style.
  19. Yep reminds me of the early Camel albums i bought. That was tasty. Dave
  20. Should have done. Not sure what was going thru my head 😀 Maybe the mods can move for me.
  21. Bought the EBS head from our guitarist last night after trialing thru rehearsals. He played bass in a previous band but only used it about 3 times. Perfect condition, lightweight head in immaculate condition. Kings it’s one powerful amp. Gain at 1 o’clock and almost flat the master was just off the bottom at maybe 8 o’clock ish altho I was using the drive to see what a bit of overdrive sounds like in the mix. Def fills the sound out a fair bit. Ideal back up for my Mesa head if ever required. I’m pretty chuffed. Have used the EBS HD360 heads before in studios and nice sound. Very wide ranging EQ on them. Took a fair bit on the comp knob to see it come in now and again when hitting hard maybe about 2-3 o’clock ish. All good tho. Dave
  22. Took your advice on them from previous posts and excellent batteries.
  23. Smooth Hound never let me down gigs, rehearsals and occasionally at home.
  24. Got a 3hr one tomorrow night 9-12 then next 2 sundays are 6hr ones 12-6pm ready for debut gig with new band Dave
