1.
Good God, my eyes can never unsee that!! Judging by those photos maybe I should consider the violin as sexy
Good grief woman!!! At least show some modesty and go for a cello!
2. I need only a slight arm twist to persuade me to play guitar. I'm a bass player though, and I do sometimes forget how short the neck is on a Strat... and end up on the wrong side of the nut...
3.
British Audio Spares don't have any major parts in stock for that generation of GP7 & AH so I'm hoping it can be fixed at component level.
That shouldn't be a problem. Those old TE's were all 'off the shelf' parts as far as electronics were concerned - no strange bespoke IC's or obscure parts.
4. An occasional glance at my fretting hand if it's moving up past the 12th fret, but other than that, I don't generally bother.
5. That's about £342 in UK £'s if that helps.
6. That's about £150 in UK £'s if that helps.
7. That's about £192 in UK £'s if that helps.
8. This is one of those times where I'm gonna stick out like a sore thumb... I was a teen in the 1980's but somehow remained totally disconnected and somewhat oblivious to the musical and fashion trends that were going on around me. It just didn't register that I should be anything other than who I was. I stayed with what I knew musically, had long scraggy hair, unfashionable clothes and just didn't fit into any 'clique' or category whatsoever. I'm still not a hugely active fan of any particular artist or band, I still manage to avoid categorisation without trying and I still wear sh*t clothes. The only real compromise I've made since my 'formative' teen years is getting my hair cut on a slightly more regular basis.
9. As part of an ongoing tidy up operation, I have closed all old Basses For Sale threads from 2007 - 2012 as it seems likely that the majority of these are now completed. Inevitably, there are probably a few adverts that are still running that will get closed as part of this tidy up. If you still have a valid ad that was started between 2007 and 2012 and has been closed please let the Forum Mods know and they'll be happy to reopen it for you.

11.
This blokes stuff is crap this proves it lol http://www.ebay.co.u...=item27d32866ed
Oh dear... A bass made out of a used toilet seat and described as 'was brown & worn' isn't something that really entices...
12.
Then there's the person who, despite the availability of a house rig, or one provided by a player who's more than happy to share, insists on using their own rig, as they absolutely must have their "sound" for the half hour set to four people. Sound engineers love them.
IME any half decent sound engineer can accommodate any half decent bass rig in less than a minute and if they can't, then they need to stop playing at being sound engineers. I don't do many of these 'multiband' things outside of the festival season, but I always make it perfectly clear that I'm either using my rig or I'm just not going to be playing - I've never had a problem with that in the 30+ years I've been doing them.
13. Is a Crunchie best for metal?
14. Well done. Take note though: the 'bending the contact' trick only buys you time, it'll fail again.
15.
In a perverse way, I agree with JH, and what suprises me is that more manufacturers have not gone after the makers of copies from the far east.
I don't think things work like that in the far East. My understanding is that it's pretty much a free market over there with letters from the US threatening legal action just being thrown in the bin as the authorities have no appetite to pursue, let alone prosecute, alleged copyright infringers.
16. Yep. The windows version isn't the problem, it's the IE10 that's causing it. My understanding is that the core software was released by the manufacturer prior to IE10 shipping and they had no way of testing to see that IE10 was compatible with the product. The next release will catch up - probably just in time for IE11 to ship and a new set of problems to appear.
17. If bending the contacts doesn't work then it's time to get a new one fitted. It's a quick DIY job if you can solder or a relatively cheap job to get a tech to do it for you (about £1 for a replacement socket plus about 30 mins labour).
18. Unless it's something you've agreed to beforehand, turning up to a gig without your amp is no different to going to work without putting your trousers on. I'm not taking my trousers off and lending them to someone else because they couldn't be ar*ed to get themselves prepared.
19.
yeah, but now I'm annoying myself with my excessively large signature, I might have to put me on my ignore list.....
What did he just say?
20. Odd. I've never clicked on that before but, having just tried it, it seems to work fine here on IE10.
21. Put the singers on a diet...
22. Kodak were an established business with a brand that was recognised worldwide. They failed to keep in touch with their customers and the rest of the photographic industry leading to their brief and failed foray into digital photography. Prior to their collapse they gathered together as many patents as they could lay their hands on in an attempt to capitalise on their IP. Don't know why that sprang to mind...
23. I've done loads of these over the years. They're generally OK but I always take a cheap tarpaulin and a roll of gaffa tape along with me just in case I need to provide a bit of a makeshift shelter within the stage area. A couple of short lengths of 3x1 might come in handy to keep your cab out of any puddles that might be about. If you're not using a wireless system then I'd strongly suggest you buy or borrow one for the day.
24. The worst has to be anyone playing Norwegian Wood.
