1. I'm an SR505 user, had mine for about 15 years now. Other basses have come and gone during that time, but my SR has always remained my 'workhorse'. If I ever had to replace it, I'd buy another one without any hesitation. Lovely light body, super slim neck and nicely balanced. The bass isn't too bad either.
 2. In the context of what is being discussed here, the availability of MI is immaterial anyway.
 3.
I think that the mods should give Discreet a position, something like Moderator of Silliness and when a thread gets too heavy, who you gonna call.....
I just realised, take a look at Discreet's latest avatar. You wouldn't need to call him - Mr Spock could just beam him down...
 4.
Yet another thread brought into disrepute by a mod
It didn't put up much of a struggle.
 5.
I have that as well, it's called The Best of Sting and the Police.
I haven't got it, I have got a stupid memory though.
 6.
What pisses me off is that they were "The Police" and then it became "Sting and the Police", which make think he's an arrogant self opinionated twat.
Are you sure that wasn't just an album? A mixture of Police stuff and Sting solo stuff?
 7.
Agreed, and I hope the fleas have departed, icastle
They never arrived - I think Col sent them via Parcelforce...
 8.
Just one other thing, my PM facility has disappeared.
Oops - I'll look into that for you.
Did i hear group hug?? I'm welsh mun, we dont do things like that ;-)
Oh yeah? What's a 'scrum' then?
 9.
Group hug everyone...?
Is that your hand or mine?
 10.
That was a shock to be honest, me always having thought he meant it when he said he's a bottom.
You do realise I'm gonna get you back for that when you least expect it don't you?
 11. They're not really my cup of tea, but all three of them are incredibly talented musicians.
 12.
nut width and weight as well please
Discreet or the bass..?
 13. And a big thumbs up from me as well. We can all have off days but it takes a truly big man to admit it. Welcome back Col.
 14.
Will it smart?
Depends if you want it to or not...
 15.
Mods! Mods! Over here quick!
16. We're on it. ebenezer - you've got a PM.
 17.
One old band worked our way through a compilation album of TV themes. The A-Team was good, but a personal highlight was coming on to the Fresh Prince Of Bel Air theme and the singer spontaneously leading a crowd singalong before launching straight into our loudest, fastest tune.
The problem with adopting that approach is that when you're young, the theme from Hawaii Five O is fab, but you've got to face reality and concede that you'll eventually enter the 'Coronation Street years'...
 18. I always take my own. I'm there to perform, not do battle with a pile of crud.
 19.
Rather than music, how about a collage of sounds. That way, you don't have to work to any musical cues. Y'know, bassy-synth rumbles, chainsaw, snippets from Presidential broadcasts, breaking glass, ice cream van arriving at 70mph (* BBC Sound Effects LP #4).
Otherwise known in the business as 'doing a Pink Floyd'
 20. The technical term for it is 'flaky'
 21. Musical director, technical expert, diplomat and common sense provider to nonsensical situations.
 22. I just leave all of my active basses set flat and sort out a close approximation of what I want using the amp tone controls. Any minor differences I may need (due to instrument changes for example) can be made with the minimum of fuss and stay pretty much static once set.
 23. Well if you do find a power strip with male connectors then you need to drop it into the bin after reshaping it with a lump hammer. The industry standard for an IEC based distribution panel is to have a line of Female connectors which are connected to the appliance using a Male IEC to Female IEC lead.
 24. Fender, along with many other high end suppliers, appoint their retail outlets based on certain criteria. Pricing needs to be consistent with the Fender RRP, a certain amount of stock has to be held and sales volume needs to match the expectations of Fender. This sort of thing has always happened, it's just a little more easy to notice since many businesses have an internet presence these days.
