1.
What do you think of this:
Ploddy and not really going anywhere, but I've never much liked Joni Mitchell.
 2.
In fact, most people didn't conceive or think in terms of entirely 16th note bass lines at the time.
And I think that's probably where I totally lose interest in him. Too much 'cleverness' in such a small space with only a handful of people really 'getting it' and a load of 'hanger ons' pretending to.
 3.
Who would you consider extraordinary?
Nobody springs to mind really. To me, bass players are either 'ok' or 'cr*p' - I don't really grade them with any more granularity than that.
 4. Well I'm going to be a small voice of dissent here. Of the few bits I've heard, I found his general playing pretty ordinary and nothing to get particularly excited about. The solo stuff, to me, is just unlistenable and tedious. I guess it's a bit like art, some people think poo stained sheets are fabulous, other people prefer watercolours.
 5. All that socket generally does is split the input signal so that the amp can see it (as normal) and the tuner can as well. The more 'breaks' there are between your bass and the amplifier input, the more chance there is of a single point of failure or noise being induced. If you've been given a tuner socket then it'd be ungrateful not to use it.
 6.
Great thanks guys, so I`m now going to be looking at guitar lead from PA to powered monitor, then speaker lead from powered monitor to passive monitor.
Spot on
 7.
Thank you, I'm not going mad then.
Oh the temptation...
 8. That's odd. I'd not heard of any problems with Chrome and IPBoard - I shall have a dig about and see if anyone else has reported it. This machine I'm using at the moment in time has IE9 on it and the Rich Text Editor works just fine.
 9. I'm guessing you're an IE10 user? The 'Rich Text Editor' just doesn't work the way it should with IE10 - I gave up with it months ago and just use the 'Plain Text Editor'. We can moan\shout\stick pins into wax dolls and run naked through pine forests making bloody offerings to Wurksodya all we like, but, unfortunately, it's something that the company who sell the core software need to supply the fix for.
 10. To reiterate what Fraser has said above. For your own sakes, I strongly advise you to NOT do any transactions with this man either on this site or any other sales sites.
 11.
or replace the panel with a Speakon loaded one.
This is by far the best idea.
 12. If you're using powered speakers then you'll need to be using guitar leads (or something shielded). If you use speaker cable then it'll buzz like crazy.
 13. Reopened - 2 octave Fretless Jazz. Lodestone
 14. If it helps: E2= 863.125 MHz E3= 863.625 MHz Frequencies between 863.0 - 865.0 MHz are currently license exempt in the UK.
 15. Those XLRs and Jack Sockets are all wired in parallel, so it makes no odds which you use from an electronic point of view. From a practical point of view, the XLRs might be a better option as they lock into place and won't get accidentally pulled out. Speakons can connect to either 1/4 jacks or XLRs - same advantages as above. HTH
 16. It depends on who's making the tone. If it's me, then sugar, spice and all things nice. If it's someone else then generally mouse poo.
 17.
lol....well... it sounds better than flower arranging and knitting
Hitman for the Dunstable WRVS?
 18.
The overheating thing doesn't add up to me. Sure, it was a hot day . . . . for the UK, but gigs like this are put on in hotter places aren't they?
Best guess - power amps in a black rack left in full sunlight and with the back either closed or pushed up against something?
 19.
So can you all stop picking on me now.
I stopped picking on you as soon as I spotted 'Weight training' and 'Martial arts' amongst your interests...
 20.
Totally understand (and agree) matey, there's a big-ish difference between expressing a 'nice to have' and in 'expecting that thing to actually happen' isn't there
Yep. The weakest part of any application is the nut behind the keyboard - we could write code until we're blue in the face but there's no way we can fix that nut.
 21. I think there's a bit of a 'logic gap' here. If you are looking for a straight sale and someone offers a trade, what's to stop them from continuing to do that? Not wanting to p*ss on anyone's parade here, but I've got to be brutally honest here and say that there's little chance of re-engineering the site to 'fix' a problem that isn't fixable. You can attempt to 'shepherd' people into appropriate areas as much as you like, but you'll not stop them from chancing their arm by offering a trade if you're selling something a punter really wants and can't afford. Isn't it easier just to say 'No thanks, this needs to be a straight sale?'
 22.
The fact with a pot that is easily over looked is that it's also a coil and as such we can expect that there will be inductance added to the circuit.
That's only true in the case of a wirewound pot. Pots used in guitars are generally carbon track these days.
 23.
Well, that's the other thing I was worried about - it would just be to switch between basses, but I'm not sure how different their output levels are likely to be. Of course, it would hardly be the end of the world if I just had to go and adjust the volume of the amp!
If you set the amp volume to suit the quietest bass, you could always then set the instrument volume of the loudest bass lower to balance them out...
 24.
Tick boxes for 'sale', 'trade' or 'sale or trade' which can be filtered would be awesome!
Quite aside from the extra code that would be needed to facilitate this feature, the harsh reality is that some people can't even enter a price in the valuation field. I suspect that adding tick boxes would only create more problems.
 25. Depends on the cost of a new capsule. If it's only a few quid more to buy a new mic then it's probably not worth the hassle.
