1. Did you know that the piano on Hey Jude and Bo Rap is the same one??
2. I used to do that in my first few weeks as a wannabe bassist!
3. The price of these new have gone through the roof! Take a look at the price in Karlfers link. This bass is only a year old. What a bargain!
4. I believe someone was on the look out for one of these on here recently.
5. I got an app on my iphone, cost a fiver I think. Anyway, I only tune the E string with it and do the rest myself by ear.
6. Brett Anderson from Suede has me reaching for the off button as does that bloke (Ricky something) from the Kaiser chiefs.
7. Is it supposed to look like that or has it melted??
8. When The Jam first toured America they were the support act for Blue Oyster Cult. Now theres incompatibility for yer! I think they got booed off stage too.
9. Very 70's tastic!
10. The intro to Sun King from The Beatles Abbey Road is quite long at 1 min before the vocals start.
11. If thats free P & P I would go for it!
12.
I have to side with Funky Dunky here; I only made it halfway through her performance. Interesting bass though!
Me too. I was waiting for the hook, but their wasnt one.
13. I have a little tin in the kitchen which I keep pound coins and Jim Dunlop 1mm picks in. i grab a handful before a rehearsal or a gig and stuff them in my back pocket. However, I have to be quick because we start with a song i do fingerstyle which segues into a Thin Lizzy number which requires a pick. I have about 2 seconds to reach in my pocket and grab one before it starts.
14.
Whooooaahh - that's uncanny!
Not really, It was the Mathew Street festival.
15. A few years ago, I saw the Bootleg Beatles in Liverpool. They were terrific. They got all the stage routine down to a tee with Georges nervous mutterings in the mike to Ringos rockIng from side to side head movements. They did an autobiographical show featuring the early Please Please Me stuff through to the Abbey Road era complete with costume changes and beards. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zHFhuN1clQ
16. My Nate mendel I got last month. It has now become my main go to bass. All the bumps and dings are meant to be there, honest!
17. One wobbly note at 0.57 Bloody fast fingers though!
18. They were all the rage on here a couple of years ago, until someone discovered that the fretwire was as soft as butter and wore out in no time at all.
19.
Paul says, "Argh! F***ing hell!". Pretty funny every time I hear it on the radio.
Apparently they bounced the backing vocals and guitars on the same track and couldnt seperate them. They didnt bother to redo it as you couldnt really hear it on your 1960s Dansette. However, with the remastered version on CD it sticks out like a sore thumb!!
20. Lilly Allen Its not fair Oh I lie here in the wet patch In the middle of the bed I'm feeling pretty damn hard done by I spent ages giving head
21. Nearly fell off my chair! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OlH7OFZpx8
22. Does the bassist lack the ability? Cant keep time? Did they leave any major flaws on a recorded work? I must admit that John Lennons attempt at bass on The Long & Winding road was a bit of a flaw. But he was not a bassist and it was buried in the mix anyway.
23. Yep, The same here, both exactly the same weight.
24. Is Johnny Rotten turning into Timothy Lumsden?
