Can we put this thread to sleep? Why are you all bickering, I don't understand.
The way I see it people are entitled to spend their pennies how they wish. If a £60 bass is available for sale you would buy with the understanding that it is a bodged job and not a Stradivarius, that you either make do with it or try it to improve it within reasons. After all we all know you can't polish a turd but... from a charitable point of view Sue Ryder is indeed a charity and when you buy their cheap basses or guitar, your purchase will have contributed to saving a life or making life better for terminally ill people You have made a difference for someone, and that is all that matters.
Maybe you all need to be reminded who and what Sue Ryder does:
Sue Ryder Care supports people with specialist palliative, end of life and long-term neurological care needs.
Each year they provide 4 million hours of care to people living with cancer, multiple sclerosis, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease, motor neurone disease, stroke and brain injury.
