  1. Hey, Slayer told you this....it really should be no surprise "There only one place to go...."
  2. Looks a cracker, but that picture messes with my head... "Small bass, normal sofa...normal bass, tiny sofa....small bass, normal sofa....giant stand !!!!!" Arrgh!
  3. I'm sure it stands as a suitable opposite to 'Take A Break !' I'm glad you don't find issue with my fourth example though - you're obviously a man of some taste
  4. Beethoven Yes, and there's Solzhenitsyn and Dan Brown, Kubrick and Bay, The New Yorker and Take A Break!, Stargate SG-1 and Deep Space Nine, and so on... It's all art, it's all creative, you just need to know how to look at it.
  5. Aha ! The first song that popped into my mind was also a bit of Hooky
  6. It's odd...I've received very few compliments about my bass playing over the years, and those only from friends, so possibly not 100% unbiased opinion. I'm quite open about saying how much I enjoyed what someone's played or the part they've come up with...I know not everyone feels that relaxed doing that. When I read about folks here having old band members call them up to get new stuff together...also never happened to me... Maybe I'm not very good after all ! There are certainly days when I look at my bass collection and think 'who am I fooling?'.
  7. Citation required. All uncited work will be regarded as author's opinion unless supported by original research - Library Ed.
  8. How long is a piece of double-ball end string ? I generally think I'm worse at almost anything that someone else can do, so maybe I'm really good. I doubt it though.
  9. Nice work. I enjoyed that - it went well with my Saturday lunchtime sci-fi film 👍
  10. I've listened to a few songs (cuts ? tracks ?) from it now and it's OK. I'm no fusion buff, but it pretty much what I'd expect from a fusion album. Pleasant enough - the excursions keep the ear interested, but nothing much really made me sit up and have a 'Heyyyyy !' moment. All expertly played though, no doubting that. There, that's enough serious Pook for the moment
  11. I think you're right. Maybe a touch more 'Dirty Harry', I remember it being a bit more out there.
  12. When fusion bands play live, are they on torus ?
  13. It's like what my Mum would think Squarepusher sounded like if I tried to explain it to her and she could will the music into existence. Is this a good thing? Is it a bad thing ? Only Mum knows.
  14. I use an IR of a Sunn 200s from ShiftLine, which is a 2x15 I believe. Part of their free pack iirc. I downloaded a handful of free IRs and just chose one I liked. That lives in a NUX Melvin Lee, but I just use it as a cab sim, not the amp modeller. Preamp duties for that are handled by a Schaltechnik Gallien Kruger preamp.
  15. "Girth". I want the neck to really say "Girth"
  16. Yep, me too, I just prefer the sound of tweeter-less cabs. I like clank, but not like that.
  17. Perfect for Led Zeppelin covers
  18. Fetal Guru - T. Rex Holding Out For A Herd - Bonnie Tyler Porklife - Blur This Charming Map - The Smiths Pocket Man - Elton John Witchita Lintman - Glenn Campbell
  19. Fruuking genius I'm offering you my seat, raising my hat and buying you a drink all at the same time.
  20. Good points indeed - it's a snapshot and often the overall performance was the priority, not perfection across the board. l
