It is not, it's a slab body. The contouring only came in in the early 70s, and all the new ones, including the Japanese ones from the 90s/early 2000s are based off of the 60s design. I would've thought Fender would be keen to reissue the 70s design as its more ergonomic, and looking at the increase in demand for Mustangs (judging by the prices), I expect they will do so in the next couple of years.

I too have been lusting after an old Mustang. The Bass Gallery has had a couple of beautiful ones up in January and February, and there's some on Reverb. I imagine it's as much, if not more, of a crap shoot finding one you like as any instrument/amp/pedal. However, you'll probably make your money back as there is a thriving market for them, and the prices are steadily increasing. I have a 2018 Fender JMJ Mustang and its a lovely instrument to play and it sounds great. If it's a measure of brand new instruments, then the standard is high! However, it's based off a 1966 Mustang, so it could be a measure of vintage Mustangs, in which case... vintage instruments are great. I haven't played any of the new Vintera ones, but the specs are nearly identical to the JMJ, and they're built in the same factory.

Post your pedal board - Basschat style!!

It never does! and that's the fun! The QuarterMaster is great, I can set up a multi pedal sound and switch straight into it. And the Moog colours the tone even when it's bypassed. The expandable pedal board looks like exactly what we all need!! -

I'm already looking at phasers, volume pedals and risers 😂 -

This has been months in the planning/saving. Finally got the power system and the board itself this week and spent a few hours last night putting it all together. I am aware the Quartermaster is squint, I'm still waiting on a Bright Onion Pedals patch bay to mount underneath so I can plug in and out from one side. This board will be subject to change without notice. -
I've upgraded my board so I'm selling my old pedal train metro 16. It's in good condition, has the loop side velcro on, and a couple of loops for cable tying underneath (easily removed with white spirit). Comes with bag and shoulder strap. £20 posted SOLD Also selling my Pedaltrain Spark, a 1300mA power supply with 5 outputs (2 x 500mA and 3 x 100mA). Comes with 5 cables (4 x 19", 1 x 31"), IEC and daisy chain with 3 outputs. Mounts under any metro board. £60 posted.

I don't now exactly when/where it went through customs but it arrived in Stanford Le Hope yesterday, then Tamworth early this morning, then arrived in Edinburgh at about 8am. The board actually arrived today, despite the delivery date being pushed back. It sounds like something else is going on with your parcel, I hope they haven't lost it!
-
That sucks, especially for a reasonably pricey guitar. Hopefully it arrives soon. My pedalboard is in the Edinburgh depot and due to be delivered tomorrow, so fingers crossed! It implies that things are straightening out, albeit slower than we'd like!

Saving this for my lunch break...

I've just got an email saying my parcel is arriving tomorrow, which is great, and the predicted delivery date since a couple of days after I bought it. However, the latest "live" tracking info is from 4/5 days ago and says its in Germany... I'm glad its made it here, but would have preferred if the tracking was kept up to date.

£1 over!!!!
-
Yup. It's due to arrive next week
-
My order was free to ship. It's everything else that's costing!
-
It was "Government charges" of £41.56 and "brokerage charges" of 11.50... tracking implies it hasn't left Germany yet so I wonder if they might still charge VAT when it enters the UK... that would suck!
-
I've just bought a Mono pedalboard with the club case. It was B-stock so I only paid £136 for the board itself, but I just got charged a further £53.06 in duties and handling fees, bringing the total to £189.06. Before Brexit they were listed at about £180... my only justification is that if I bought in the UK I'd have to buy the board and the case separately which would've cost about £300!

hey everyone, I'm selling a bass on Reverb (also on here as well and tbh would rather sell it here) and someone has contacted me and immediately asked to reply to their personal email. I find this worrying for two reasons: 1) if the transaction is off the site then, I assume, I am not protected by Reverb's Ts & Cs, 2) under their message it says "XYZ cannot receive messages at this time", which happened when an account has been suspended, and doesn't bode well for the potential buyer. I'm leaning towards ignoring the message but wondered if this was typical practice on Reverb to avoid seller fees. Thanks L

This is a wonderful instrument to play but just not exactly what I'm looking for. It's got a very comfortable neck, the balance is perfect and its very light, so I imagine easy to wear for a long gig. It's a surprisingly modern sound for a 50s style P pickup, very forward and throaty. It's only a couple of months old and been played a bit at home but, of course, it's not been used in anger. comes with Alpher branded hiscox case and a couple of tools for the truss rod and bridge adjustments £1400 including shipping to mainland UK, anywhere else at buyer's expense. Local pickup is free. I also don't mind driving an hour or so from Edinburgh for a socially distanced handover. Would consider trading for a Japanese Fender Mustang or other high end short scale (plus cash either way). Specs: - 21 frets - 30 inch scale - sapele body - quarter sawn maple neck - Pau Ferro fingerboard - Luminlay side dots - passive electronics - 4kg

There's a '78 Mustang just appeared at the Bass Gallery, so now I want that. I've also been drooling over the new Barefaced One10T, with black cloth grill, plus replacement grill for my old one. Also planning a Pedaltrain jnr size board. Will also need bigger flat to accommodate aforementioned acquisitions.

that's why I'm asking here 😂 I don't want to be the one to break their Moog!

want *the cab, not the cat

I read in the manual that the MF-101 can take up to 15V, has anyone tried their LPF with more than 9V? Did it make any difference to the sound?
