1. Mine runs all of the time.
2. Me, I'd stretch the budget a bit and grab the BF S12 from the 'for sale' section here. But that's just me...
3. ...plus $9 delivery, plus 22% Happy user of the Legacy nickel rounds from stringsdirect here.
4. Or go to http://www.duncanamps.com/technical/impedance.html and download the Excel spreadsheet if you want something to use offline.
5. Wow! Just when I've decided on a BB, this beauty turns up! And I've a P/J to go... Hmmm...
6. I had an Acoustic head die mid-gig some 20-something years ago. No spare... Since then I've always carried a spare, and never needed it.
7. Having a clearout of some a few bits n bobs, and came across this... Behringer BLE100 (Boss LMB3 clone) in used but OK condition, and all works as it should. Surprisingly useable, for something so cheap. Usual Behringer plastic casing - always feels like it's going to break whenever you change the battery, but hasn't done so far. (Why do folks assume that plastic ain't tough?) Also works from a standard Boss-type 9v power supply - NOT INCLUDED. I don't have the original box & stuff, but it'll be all wrapped up snugly for posting. Short write up here Can't get any photo's at the moment (my daughter's in Morocco with the camera) but here's the details at the Behringer website Looking for a tenner, delivered to your door.
8.
I had no idea hyphens were old fashioned! so dots are considered OK or will they age to? the reason I ask is my business has a hyphen in it's domain name.
I see nothing wrong with hyphens, and don't see them as old fashioned. I'd rather have a hyphen than sex in the name, personally. Dots are OK, but you need to own the parent domain. So to use eg sixties.explosion.co.uk you'd have to own explosion.co.uk, and use a host that allows subdomains... Personally, I think that's far more messy than a hyphen.
9. Yup - I was in PMT last Thursday. Didn't pay much attention to the amps, but there was lots of Ashdown stuff in there. Bass wise...yup, mainly Fender/Squire, Ibanez and Yamaha [no BB's though mainly the TRBX's I think] Also a few Musicman instruments, which surprised me.
10.
I own both and you're spot on. The P/J is the Classic and the soapbars one is the Contemporary. Both great basses, if a little large and heavy IMO.
I've got a Westone Thunder. Everything else is lightweight...
11. Is this a rack case, or more a suitcase kinda thing ? What're the internal dimensions please ? Pic of it...online, anywhere ?
12. I see Nevada have this on their website...described as a Contemporary Jazz, but the pics & description/spec are definitely Classic J. I wonder if this is what the OP has bought...? They also have this which is actually a Contemporary Jazz...
13. I was round at my bass teacher/mentors last night, and had a noodle on his 1024. And now I want one. Damn you, Basschat...!
14. Isn't it a standard 19 inch 2U unit? If so, put it in a rack case/sleeve ?
15.
I hear ya i love the look of Stingrays & have owned 2 in the past but neither did anything for me so were promptly moved on.
I'm kinda the same...but t'other way about. I love the sound of 'em (as long as it's not me playing them...) but they just look f'ugly to me.
16. I'm not sure that it's Overwater confusing things. Nevada, for example, are advertising a Contemporary Jazz on their website, that's definitely not...it's a Classic J. So which one have you got ? Sounds like a Classic J to me.
17. The Contemporary Jazz has 2 soapbar pups, and 2band active eq...yes? The Classic J is a passive P/J configuration, and are normally a bit cheaper I think. I've had one as my main gigging bass for a couple of years now, and yes, they're a lot of bang for the bucks IMO.
18. I think so, yes.
19. What prices, if you did split? Could be interested in the compact, but I've no idea what a TTE500 goes for...
20.
I have heard about these. Would one of these be light enough for me to carry? I'm only little.
15Kg apparently. 21. Thanks folks - appreciated. On a wee break at the moment, while guitar's on his hols. I'll experiment with just the onboards for starters when we reconvene, and let ya know how it goes.
22. Mine's different to that...it's one of these Is that something you'd be willing to take on ?
