2. I've had a couple of trace heads through a TE 410 and 115 - the 'classic' TE setup. I thought they sounded great, until I played through a Ampeg. Night and day for me. I've had some good sounds through an Ashdown too, but it was held together with blutac and went back to the shop when buttons started falling off.
3. My uncle's got some of these in his loft, perhaps he should get them on the 'bay too.
4. That fretless P looks lovely, good luck with the sale EU. I'd have it off you but have just had to do Christmas for wife and two beautiful little boys.
5. cheers for the correction guys, I've certainly never needed one.
6. Scrunchies are WaY better on a bass than on a hairdo - they're quite the sartorial faux pas.
7. Good for you, pro tools is the BALLS.* * Other DAWs are available.
8. Didn't boss (or somebody) do a 'bassmaker' pedal - you've got to play the smaller, less good guitar and the pedal will generate a low note in response to your harmony line.
9. and a Rush anthology in the background too, good man.
10.

Do you thunk he bought the sofa to go with the tattoo or the other way around? your man's got some chops though, clearly loves playing too - more power to his elbow!
11. Yup, the other idiot bassist should be ringing Panic Music in Cambridgeshire to fix your ampeg. THey're not cheap, but it'll be done properly and maybe he'll learn from the experience. also, punch him in the throat.

13. Personally I'd go for USB (firewire if you can), but then again, I'm on a macbook, so internal cards aren't really an option. I use an MBox to run Protools, but it can also be used for Cubase, Logic, Sonar etc... Lots of really useful features and good quality AD conversion too. Protools ain't cheap though... It also depends how many channels you want to record at once. MBoxes will only do 2 channels, so if you need more than that then I'd probably look elsewhere. Loads of people I know have made positive noises abut the focusrite saffire stuff - cheaper than protools too. HTH Paul.
14. [smug] I've thought long and hard for some minutes about which particular piece of kit I regret selling, and I don't regret any sales. They were all sold for a reason [/smug] I DO however, regret not buying a fretless Wal for £700 roughy ten years ago; I was but a poor student at the time...
15. is the '1' key missing from your keyboard?

18. erm, get off basschat and start playing them?
19. My knob never really goes above 'half'. I wish I could find somewhere big enough to push it all the way up.
