  1. Nice where are you based? Is there a case with it? Thanks
  2. I thought as much body looks like a Hohner or something. Cheers
  3. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Jazz-Bass-Special-Guitar-1987-Custom-Black-With-Case-Receipt-/272671251896?hash=item3f7c791db8:g:MLIAAOSw5cNYOvxs The body seems an odd shape for this style bass and bridge alignment looks wonky or is it simply the angle of the photo? Plus slight exaggeration of value of case!
  4. Many thanks it's a lovely looking thing, the headstock paint job is unusual for a Sandberg. Thanks for posting.
  5. I'd love to see pics however the link keeps inviting me to install an application - that I don't want. Could you possibly add one picture of the bass for those of us who want to see what people are getting excited about Cheers!
  6. It's always a quandary with these things isn't it? I can only say I've had many Precisions US, MIJ, and custom jobs and this ranks as one of the best, the neck is much flatter than usual and very comfy, the weight is nice and light. Never felt a lighter 70's Precision. I'm only selling because I got my old Jazz bass back after it was missing in action for 20 odd years! Thanks for your interest!
  7. The bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan Basslines and the neck from a 1980's Fender Japan Jazz. Both work as they ought to with a nice punchy sound. No issues and in good cosmetic condition. Now sold thanks!
  8. My JV Jazz bass has the woven wiring and so do both my JV Precisions. If you look at the 21 frets site (dedicated JV material and info) you'll see lots of pics with this kind of wiring.
  9. That's light for a G&L
  10. Love these basses - any ideas on weight please?
  11. Hofner HCT Contemporary Violin Bass This is the modern take on the classic Violin Bass made in China with German pickups. It compares very favourably to my '67 German model - on the left. Light and easy to play with a surprising array of tones. Currently strung with roundwounds. Bought as a backup whilst my '67' was being serviced. No trades, pickup preferred but I can post at cost.
  12. £895 gets this lovely old bass
  13. It looks like it was owned (and possibly used) by a serial killer
  14. Do it Dunc you'll never get an opportunity like this again!
  15. 1979 Fender Precision - I call it the 'Sid' bass as it has the look of the classic punk bass of that era. The neck is very flat for a Precision and comfortable with a typical P bass nut width. Neck is superb and in great condition with good frets and working trussrod. Pickup is original although the wiring has been replaced - the pots, jack and cap look original too. It has a replacement scratchplate which was on it when I bought it and I put on the Fender metal knobs as the originals had been replaced with generic plastic ones. The thumbrest is also missing. There is a Fender sticker in the neck pocket that matches the serial number. It's a very light bass for the era - around 4.2kgs. When I removed the scratchplate to check the wiring you can see that someone with Billy Sheehan pretentions has routed it to put in a humbucker at the neck and then filled it again. Hence the price for a very nice '79 US Fender. It's not pretty however with the scratchplate in place it can't be seen and this probably accounts for the replacement wires and scratchplate. This doesn't affect the structural integrity of the bass. Plays like a dream with Roto 45-100s and has a range of tones from mellow soul to clanky punk. The faded off white body has marks and dings as it's had a long gigging life but nothing near as bad as a 'roadworn' reissue. With the exceptions as detailed above the hardware, body, neck, pickup and finish are original to this bass. No trades sorry, cash on pickup preferred and U.K. sale only. I can post at buyers expense if necessary however. There's no case but I can provide a gigbag. I didn't think I'd ever part with it but having been reunited with my old bass from 20 years ago via a fellow Basschatter (cheers again Fitz) I'm letting this one go. £890 gets it.
  16. SOLD elsewhere The bass is in excellent cosmetic and functional condition and is an accurate reissue of the Violin bass This one has the pickups mounted closer together and a flat back with the early Hofner logo. The frets are in excellent condition and everything is original. The bass has some small blemishes to the lacquer and dings on the sides and headstock as it's been gigged
