  1. Well Karl if it all falls through my unmentionable and a little cash sweetener still stands!
  2. I got it off eBay a while ago - it needed a bit of work to get it going again but it's a lovely bass. I was going to put a different bridge on it but it's actually a non standard base plate so I just got some saddles that fitted rather than drill loads of extra holes in it. I've used it for a one off gig and it is very nice to play but I don't play enough fretless electric to justify keeping it.
  3. High quality Hohner fretless bass with what looks like an ebony board. Licensed by Schaller machine heads and excellent build, sounds, action and vintage looks. As good as any 'name brand' at a decent price. There are some small chips and blemishes with a couple of dings on the headstock. The saddles have been changed. Weighs around 9.5lbs. The only trade I'd consider is for a Markbass Blackline amp head. Cash price is negotiable of course. Great fretless for someone who doesn't have a massive budget or plays occasionally. I'm looking for £135 cash for a quick sale.
  4. It was mine and it needed work when I bought it as the necks and bridges had been swapped around - the 8 string saddles had been reversed too. The 4 string bass side was lovely. It was very heavy and cumbersome - I bought it because I'm a bit of a Shergold fan and had to own one of these albeit briefly as this was pure GAS! I sold it to this guy last year and he's taking a bit of a hit on it - so it's a bargain if you need an excuse to employ a chiropractitioner!
  5. I'll check it out

  7. I'd like to see our favourite Basschat/eBay 'luthier' have a go at improving that

Where did you get your scratchplate from and what value/type of pots did you use? I've been playing it all morning it's a fine bass very versatile. Thanks!

If you want to buy the bass that's fine but I rather want to keep my hand!
  12. If someone decides to buy my Ovation Magnum I'd be all over this - love this era. Is the neck ok - plenty of play in the trussrod? Have you got the old tuners? Thanks

Lancaster - this one is very comfy and not that much heavier than my Rick they did vary in weight - this is an early serial number and some say these models maybe more manageable on account of the quality of the mahogany used. I have a dodgy shoulder and found it fine for long sessions.

Sold The bass had some incredible features for its time - active electrics with 6 band EQ and graphite reinforced neck plus adjustable volume on each pole of the neck pickup. It can produce sounds from slap to dub and anywhere in between. As favoured by Jah Wobble and Barry Adamson these are highly sought after instruments. Excellent condition for its age although there are small dings and wear to the aluminium hard wear. The electrics work well although they are a little scratchy when the sliders are moved. The scratchplate has been cracked in the past and repaired. Neck is lovely and straight with a low action. It weighs just under 10lbs but balances perfectly. All original with an early serial number - I'm only selling because I prefer passive instruments and am looking for the passive Magnum - If you've got one and fancy a swap let me know. No other trades sorry. The price is negotiable within reason, cash on collection. I may post but only in the UK as there isn't a case but a gigbag is included.
  18. get thee behind me temptation ....
  19. I'm good thanks - that is a lovely bass and I'm extremely tempted - you're not selling the Tele are you?
  20. Hi did you get this one from me? I remember one with another pickup but can't remember where it went. What does it weigh? Cheers
