    Yes it's lovely Paul Neild did it of Retro169 he's done several refins for me now including a '74 P bass road worn look restoration, Mart's Shergold Marathon 6 and this. Always does a great job with a quick turnaround.

    I bought this from here earlier in the year - it's a rather lovely Status Energy bass with the carbon neck - an early version without trussrod. It has two Status Jazz pickups and an active circuit - pickup blend, volume and master tone. It can do anything from modern bright tones to a classic Jazz type sound.

    I still think the backplate is wrong or a replacement - serial numbers in later 70s basses were often on stickers behind the scratchplate or in the neck pocket but they should match the headstock serial. My thoughts are that the bass is a 'bitsa' made from genuine Fender parts or possibly the backplate has been replaced - the neck has the earlier larger pre '76 decal on the headstock. If it plays well and doesn't weigh a ton it could be a reasonable buy.

    Fender USA 1970s Precision pickup including plate and wire plus mounting screws.sold This pickup is ideal for someone wishing to restore a modded Fender Precision back to stock or someone who wants to add a real piece of vintage mojo to a reissue Fender bass. This pickup has been on my JV Squier for years but since acquiring an original JV unit I've returned my Precision to original spec. This is now surplus to requirements. I bought it from the US as it is now. It has a great tone with an aggressive bite to it. The pickup has the grey bobbins and has two serial numbers barely discernible thanks to the foam from the pickup sponges sticking to them. You can see the numbers on the pictures. I paid quite a bit for them including customs charges so I would like back what I paid and I'll include free UK postage. Sorry I don't want to risk shipping them overseas, if I remember correctly they were stuck at customs for a long time! Any questions please ask. No trades. Thanks.

    I bought this in error it's slightly smaller than the vintage type and suitable for basses from 2008 onwards. The shop has kindly agreed a return and swap for the correct item so withdrawn

    I looked at this but there didn't seem to be a serial number present and the strings looked strange in relation to the neck - bridge out of alignment perhaps? You probably didn't miss much especially at that price - maybe a bitsa.

    I've bought a couple of things off the seller including an Ovation Magnum and he's really into collecting unusual basses. Nice to see one of these in good condition the back of the neck area reminds me of John Birch basses. If I hadn't just bought an old Yamaha bass I'd be making an offer!

    Now Sold This is the first version of the US built Highway one bass with knurled bridge, spaghetti logo and truss rod adjustment at the headstock end. It's a lovely bass nice and light at under 9lbs and well balanced and it plays easily and sounds...well... like a Fender Jazz bass! There are some dings to the nitro finish on the edges nothing nasty and a few at the back. The neck has some lacquer hairline faults to the finish but this isn't structural and as its the upper side is barely noticeable. A real US Jazz for the price of a MIM. I have a cheap functional case for it. Postage in the UK only and this will be at buyers cost pickup preferred. Sorry no trades. Cheers.
