6. I have a '76 Mustang its a superb little bass. Great to play for long gigs and if you have intermittent neck or shoulder issues the Mustang is a must have Good luck this is a lovely bass.
7. Thanks as I said the previous owner thought it was original to the bass. Sounds great and has a very usable range of tones on offer.
8. Thanks for the info I've edited the post, I think from what you and other Status owners have said this is definitely a non standard feature it's got a Status board and the previous owner had owned the bass for 7 years and hadn't made any mods. May have been a special order? Anyway apparently the concentric pots are a better option by all accounts as it's much more variable tone wise.
9. Cheers MB1 I know you love the last one I sold!
10. Cheers, I forgot to put I'm based in Lancaster.
11. I bought this privately just over a week ago though it was advertised on eBay at the same time. Status 3000 headless and has a non truss rod carbon graphite neck. This is an early version with a low serial number and the rare black painted neck. The bass has a walnut body in the classic Status 80's shape. Electrics are original with two Jazz type pickups, volume, blend and stacked treble and bass active eq. It's very simple but plenty of tonal options and lots of power! It's not mint by any means but the body and neck are in very good shape and structurally sound. The brass tailpiece has a worn logo and lacquer. The three strap buttons are replacements. There is plenty of life in the frets and the bass balances perfectly and weighs in at around 9.4lbs. The neck is lovely to play although it has chips at the top and an area behind the 12th fret that has been worn. The chap I bought it from said that this was due to a dodgy guitar stand. It doesn't interfere with playability and should be easy enough to sort out if it bothers you. I'm only selling because I have the opportunity to buy one of my old basses back and I need to release some funds. I'd bought this for its compact size and convenience however I got a very cheap short scale bass which I can use as my 'travel bass'. SOLD
12. Sunday bump
13. A beauty I have a Yamaha BBVIIS MIJ and the build quality is fantastic this must be even better! Good luck with the sale someone will get a bargain here.
14. Yes see the amended title. NB the chap who bought it ( not a member here )immediately put it on eBay for far more than he bought it from me for it's probably still there. That's commerce!
15.
Indeed there is. The trouble we used to have with that bloody thing
I've still got mine - the quality control was notoriously inconsistent. Thankfully however you did get stable ones although mine has a casing held together by superglue and prayer it has never let me down and works perfectly. 😊
16. There's a guy in the second black and white picture sitting on the edge of the stage with a Wasp synthesiser. Sod the Shergolds bring back the EDP Wasp!
17. No basses eh? I've still got my Marathon 6 String Bass it's good because unlike the Fender Bass VI it has a bassist friendly string spacing. I'm not keen on these new models although they've kept some individuality and not gone for the usual Strat or Tele clones they don't look much like the originals. I saw a very early prototype I assumed as it was eastern made at SoundAffects Music and it looked more like a '70s Masquerader. I also think they'd do well to reissue some Hooky and Rutherford signature basses as they were the chaps most closely associated with the brand.
18. I bought the body specifically for this project new from Fender so there is no spare Jazz neck.
19. Feeler Status/Fender Jazz Bass. This is a beautiful bass in near mint condition. The body is a Fender American series Jazz bass in Olympic white with through body stringing. The electrics It is fitted with are Fender N3 Noiseless Jazz bass pick ups which are wired to a Sigler Music 62 Jazz bass tone circuit. All pots are CTS, they are stacked pots and give a plenty of tonal variation. The strap buttons, bridge, scratchplate, string tree and ferrules are all Fender. The neck is a beautiful Status Graphite Jazz type with the distinctive 'holographic' woven pattern. It has a truss rod unlike some earlier Status necks and is set up with a low action. Tuners are light weight Hipshot HB4s. Strings are 40-100 Roto roundwounds. The bass has the best of both worlds with all the traditional feel and tone of a Fender Jazz but with the stability of a graphite neck. There are no issues with the bass and I'm only selling because I tend to favour my old Precision bass. It weighs 4.3kgs and balances perfectly. It really is a superb sounding and playing bass. It comes with a gig bag. Sorry no trades and I'd prefer pickup from Lancaster although I would post at buyer's cost. The price is £795
