  1. My first gigging amp was a T60 and a purple painted Foundation cab. My Dad bought me the T60 rig for £30 as I was at school aged 14 - this was in the early 80s and nobody wanted these amps now they fetch very high prices! It was ok through the big cabs and I used a Fender Musicmaster. I played a few gigs then sold it for £35 and bought a Carlsbro Cobra.
  2. Yes 1966 AC50 stack I’ve got some cloth on order for the cab. Both amp and cab have been together for 53 years!
  3. Squier Classic Vibe 70’s Precision Bass This bass was purchased as a back up for my original 70’s Precision. Other than being set up and played at home a couple of times it’s not been used in anger. When I got it I was astonished by the quality of the construction and finish. The neck is slightly slimmer than my original and obviously the block markers are different however they look great. It is relatively light weight at 4.1kgs. This is a fantastic instrument for the money. It’s been professionally set up with Ernie Balls. No bag or case but has it’s original manual and Allen keys. I don’t want trades sorry. I also don’t post overseas these days. Pickup preferred but I can post in the UK at buyer’s cost. Please note days I can post are limited because of work. Last picture is with my old faithful ‘79 Precision.

  8. and replied - still for sale.
  9. Ha ha it’s a fantastic instrument
  10. I bought this bass this week on a whim - I’ve been looking for the headless version of my Status S3000 for some time and this came up in this rather fetching gold sparkle custom finish. The ad is probably still on here so I will find a link to it. It’s a lovely bass, plays really well and I’ve set the action low similar to my headed bass. It sounds fantastic with an 18v Status preamp - nice and simple, pickup blend, volume and tone. The neck is gorgeous and the previous owner added larger luminous position dots at the front and side. I assume these can be removed if required. The bass was custom finished for a French company who were selling a bunch of these according to the seller. It’s definitely a pro job. The neck is the earlier non truss rod variety and is straight and true. The serial number is 70 so it’s probably early 90’s. The reason I’m selling is down to the ergonomics really. This bass is 4.5kgs and very comfortable to play however it’s just a bit too heavy for me for the long and energetic gigs I play (when we are allowed to again). Secondly on my Status the upper bout of the body has a softer chamfer for my forearm to rest, this one is a little more angular and really bothers me when playing finger style. So a very nice S series Status in excellent functional and cosmetic condition. I don’t want trades thanks and I won’t send overseas. I’d prefer pickup but will post using UPS at a cost of £30 with basic cover. I’m asking what I paid for it. It comes in a decent gig bag with two spare unopened sets of Status Hotwire double ball ended strings. https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/434466-status-s3000-4-string-with-hotwires-now-sold/
  11. Yes at your cost and depending if you are in the UK as stated in the ad.
  12. A nice logo written in biro would add pence to it’s value.
  13. But that decent looking, cheap and cheerful but respected beginners brand Encore doesn’t have the unique, ‘handcrafted’ headstock and specially mutilated scratchplate does it. I’d definitely pay more for those unique features wouldn’t you? 😏

  15. Now £315 350 watts into 8ohms 550 watts into 4ohms An excellent small footprint amplifier for both upright bass and electric bass. This is the first version of the amp. Channels are switchable and there are decent tone shaping facilities as well as a notch filter and phase control to help dial out feedback from acoustic instruments. I’m not interested in trades. I’m having a clear out of my spare amps and as I rarely play both upright and electric bass on the same gig this needs to go. It is in excellent condition although there are cosmetic signs of use as it has been gigged regularly. See pictures. Some pots have a little static but a squirt of servisol will sort that. The fan works as it ought to and a mains lead is included. The biro in the pictures is to give the amp some scale. I can post for about £15 UK only but pickup is preferred - at a distance of course. I’d consider a trade for a Markbass LM type head.

  20. Unfortunately as a result of Parcelforce losing a valuable bass I bought and the ongoing compensation battle I need to sell this. Last in first out as they say. A recent purchase just prior to lockdown it hasn’t been gigged since and is in exactly the same condition as when I bought it off Bigthumb. For this limited edition model Fender combined classic features of the past with innovations from the present to create a unique take on the Precision bass. It has a light weight, contoured body and heavy duty bridge with options for through body stringing. A classic P bass and it plays beautifully. Frets have little wear and there are only a couple of tiny dings to the finish. The case is included as are all the bits and bobs. It weighs around 9lbs and balances perfectly. No trades I’m afraid, no none UK sales as it’s too expensive and risky. If you want it posting you will need to organise this yourself and it will need to be insured. My recent experiences mean I won’t accept Parcelforce as a courier option and collection is Tuesdays only. I’d definitely prefer pickup in person at an acceptable social distance of course! I will put the bass in it’s case in quarantine until the next lucky person plays it! Sold pending payment
  21. Thanks Owen, we are awaiting news from the managers if this doesn’t happen I’ll take it further and will update this post.
  22. Over a month on since my last post ( oh the irony) and no sign of this. The sender opened a case and they - Parcelforce - closed it saying it was delivered - of course this was the wrong parcel. They have consistently refused to discuss anything with me other than acknowledging that the parcel has been lost. I found the CEO’s email and the sender contacted him and his PA has been looking into this however there were apparently no online records kept about the various conversations both myself and the sender have had with various Parcelforce staff members. One of the issues is a lack of a named person dealing with this. First names only given and no accountability. I used Parcelforce for most of my transactions. No more. As far as I’m concerned they have mugged me for just under a grand’s worth of bass. I’m livid.
  23. I have a lovely Vox AC50 Foundation amp and cab from 1966. It has been restored electronically and sounds great but the grill cloth on both amp and cab needs replacing. I need advice around refitting this cloth - if I can do it myself. Hoping to restore both but will start with the amp first. Any tips or links for doing this? Thanks in advance.
