It's gone mate sorry too late!
3. You can pick them up on eBay for 225-300 depending on condition. They are great basses for the money, I think this one is a bit dear for an early one - generally the larger single ply scratch plates warp or break and need replacing (Rob Green will custom make you one however). The pickup placement isn't as comfy as the later versions and in my view the output jacks and incremental pots aren't the greatest quality.
4. In answer to a few questions I would consider posting overseas however I'd prefer the courier to be organised by the buyer in this case.
5.
Any trades or sale only?
Only looking for sales at the moment I'm afraid.
6. I bought this from EBay as an experiment to see if I could get on with a 6 string bass - I can't so its up for sale! Well despite it being a lovely bass and very easy to play I've decided it's not for me. The bass has a string spacing of just over 16mm at the bridge, 34" scale with a superb flat profiled Status graphite reinforced neck. The action is very low and the bass plays nice and easy up and down the scale. Pickups are Status soap bars and it's an active bass with a wide range of tones and great punch and clarity. The bass comes with a spare set of brand new Rotosounds and an old case. The bass has some cosmetic issues - it has been resprayed in black 'textured' paint a bit like Hammerite. It's not horrible and has been done reasonably well, but it's not perfect either. Secondly the soap bar covers have some surface wear and cracks which have been repaired; again only a cosmetic issue. There is a ding on the very top of the headstock, no other issues everything works properly, very little fret wear, truss rod turns, etc. The cosmetic issues are reflected in the price. £360 posted UK £345 picked up in person. Thanks.
7.
it says something about these JV guitars that someone would go to the expense of fitting a new fretboard on it. Good luck!
Yes a lot of money has gone into making this into a superb fretless - price now dropped for a quick sale, no offers or trades. Thanks.

11. Some interest but no firm offers yet.
12. The bass has all the JV identifiers on the neck plate, neck pocket and neck itself plus the pencilled date on the neck butt.
13. It is the above bass and I've decided to keep it for now. I played this at a gig recently and really enjoyed how it played and got great comments on its sound. I got a bit negative about the bass because when it arrived it needed some repairs doing and the attitude of the seller was unsupportive and upsetting. Having spent some time and money on it I've bonded with it again for the time being. I'm always open to the temptation of a nice Telecaster though!
14.
Got some interest in my Les Paul so it's a race to see if I can get the cash to be able to try it out before it goes...
Good luck with the sale then, plenty of interest so far but nothing on the table so to speak!
15. I had a 5 string version, they play well but don't have the classic Jazz sound to my ears.

19.
That looks fantastic!
And it's fantastic to hear and play too!
20.
Now I understand, thanks for that, does look good, colour me tempted
Quite a few are tempted it appears! I must say the ebony board is superb to play and the bass has a very 'natural' sound for an active.
21. Well Geoff I turned the bridge round as suggested and it's a much better angle. The feet aren't too flush to the top however it certainly feels firmer and much 'safer' to play. Thanks for your advice and sorry noojb if I hijacked your thread somewhat!
