My first 6'er was a Status Energy and was a cracking bass. Green LED side dots and the body was finished with what I decribed as translucent swamp green! It wasn't the prettiest of colours, but I had lots of fun playing it. Good luck with the sale and your new acquisition!

Status 5 and 6 strings have the most accessible necks I've played, your bass was one for Shockwave by the description of the colour of it!

Gah, I ordered something new instead here

Really hope I don't end up regretting not taking this instead!
Congrats on the sale

That looks very nice and at a bargain price too, hopefully this will be paid for and shipped soon.

Thanks it's a great bass for not much dosh
Hi - here's a pic contrasting the 'burst of the fretless '83 with my fretted JV '82. You can see that the '82 model has far more orange/red in the sunburst also the grain of the '82 is much more pronounced since these early models were made from sen ash. I'm using an iPad for pics so I'm afraid the quality isn't the best but it gives you an idea.

I am a gimp at packing... i'd rather pay more to have it done properly lol... but at least never any worry

sadly, I think only major companies should be used when shipping : DHL / UPS / FEDEX
... with those 3 you are sorted for I am gonna guess about 99,99% of hearth!
so

Agreed - I've also used Parcelforce 24/worldwide and have had no problems provided you use a case and pack very well. They are more expensive but what price peace of mind?
I had a turntable delivered yesterday by Yodel - its a write off and it had been packed really well! They must have been playing football with it in the warehouse. I'd personally never use them but people do try to cut corners by using these amateurish companies. Avoid!

just sell all that other junk in your sig to get it!
Ha! Ha! Yes that's right although you have to keep your JV Jazz unless you want to swap for this .

If I was in Lancaster it would be buy first, ask if I can afford it later! As it is, geography has saved me.

Shame on geography!

Ah I see. Apparently you can use a different browser which may work, or use the mobile version (change by choosing the option at the bottom of the page)
Yes it's a bit strange, I'll try that thanks, oddly I just got a message from another basschatter and I was able to reply without a problem.
So reply as a new PM, should be fine
I can't from the iPad, for some reason when you attempt to start a new PM it won't show the reply button - its off the page! You can reply to a received PM however. I've noticed a few forum users have mentioned this.
I think that's because he's deleted the thread so you'll need to start a fresh PM thread with the recipient.
Ok but he just sent a new PM and I can't reply to it.....hmmmm,
Not an ad but I have a load of Fender head stocks in a repeated pattern at the top of my page which do a fine job in obscuring my message notifications. I'm also getting a 'deleted' notification next to a conversation even though the poor guy is still trying to communicate with me I can't reply to his PM the 'normal' way as theoretically it doesn't exist! So if he's reading this sorry I can't start a new conversation on my iPad.
Ah Burnley my old stomping ground - shame they closed down the Carlton I saw this on eBay, is that where you got it from? I remember it as the 'Nigel' name amused me! Is it playable, neck OK, etc. the bridge is certainly not placed correctly. What's the tone/volume like? Never used a full sized bass so curious as to how it would project compared to a 3/4 but I guess you wouldn't know if you've never played on.
