1. I reckon it's either a Grant or a Status (no not that Status) both importer badged cheapish basses judging by the materials.
2. Here's the Hayman - bought as a project, needs the neck sorting out though as it's bowed and defretted.
3. Well I may have a Hayman 4040 I may be moving on......
4. I like the neck width being a Precision and Grabber fan, I always felt they were very comfy to play. I just love these quirky British basses my first full scale bass was a Marathon and I never quite got over part exchanging it for my Precision.
5.
Sold for £315. I would be physically sick... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121181004775?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
Well I'm very pleased because I was the highest bidder! A match for my Masquerader
6. A great deal from a great guy, many thanks for the Squier Bass VI! Cheers Ash
7. Very nice mine is a later one, best guitar neck I've ever played!
8. Nice line up - pity Bill Bruford can't be tempted back out of retirement.
9. The tuners are original to the bass - they were generic MIJ tuners of the day fitted to many instruments. Not the best looking but perfectly functional. I needed some replacements recently and they are hard to find even Brandoni have sold their last stocks - I bought mine from a fellow Basschatter
10. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Original-Hofner-Vintage-Strip-Tuners-for-Violin-Bass-Not-Reissue/200964766573?_trksid=p3984.m2206&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D17234%26meid%3D1493734736018965489%26pid%3D100052%26prg%3D8045%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D181219816362%26 Wow pricey!
11. It's a Marathon 6 string bass - the Hayman basses had string trees that were slightly larger - here's mine. Some of the Shergolds may have had them stock or fitted later there were several variants.
12. The string trees aren't stock - this is what they look like on mine -
13. Oh yes please this will match my Shergold Masquerader nicely!
14. Bought a very nice perspex Precision body from Den, great service and item. The bass I made from it was used for a one off performance and got a lot of great comments - alas its a bit to hefty for me so its being moved on but a lovely instrument nonetheless. Cheers!
15. Any trades? Cheers

The neck is superb and very fast, there are black position dots on the side - these are helpful in that they are situated in the 'fret position' of the note as opposed to between frets on a standard bass. The truss rod functions correctly and the machine heads are in excellent condition. I'm not sure about the brass nut - could this be a modification?
17. It looks like the all carbon graphite stealth to me, an interesting one this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141058611932?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Wowsers, wouldn't fancy a swap for the Alien?
Hmmm, interesting but probably wouldn't use it either, I am after an Epiphone Rivoli too or a John Birch but nothing else really.

20. At least they replied. It's certainly not worth what they were asking and it looks like a recent Chinese knockoff - I'll give 'em 40 quid
21. Release The Rickenwaffe!
22. Here's a couple at a more realistic price one excellent one trashed! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Musicmaster-Bass-1978-/130986688793?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item1e7f6a4119 And http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Musicmaster-Bass-Guitar-1971-Vintage-Fretless-/190898960892?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item2c7276f9fc
