1. Pick this pick today from our very own gear tart Karlfer. It's in great condition for a 19 year old bass and I'm loving the jazz neck. Karl kindly fitted flats to it, a 1st for me and really liking the feel and tension. One happy bunny here.
2. I won 6 tickets too. I'm looking forward to it. I just need to decide who I going to take along. My wife has the Holiday Inn Express booked as she works for the group and get staff rates for peanuts.
3. Make sure Just Another Brick In The Wall is in your setlist.
4.
Quite. This is the route we've gone down.
I hope you've checked out the kebab shops in the area. You could give a workshop on them. I'm in.
5.
Explorer close enough?
Oooh, yes please.
6. I thought Sir Mick Jagger's latest release was into a 29 year old ballet dancer.
7. I have one in Candy Apple Red. Cracking bass with a Fender high mass bridge fitted. It's going nowhere. Enjoy yours.
8. Oh, that is a beauty. Love the chrome pups.
9. They will soon be pushing up the daisies, so they've gone back to their roots.
10.
That doesn't make it any more acceptable as far as I can see. Just means there are two people on Basschat who are happy to commit a crime with, IMO, very little justification, not one.
i think they got off lightly. They had control of the money and had underpaid us the agreed amount on as number of gigs. It only came to light when our manager checked with us how much we had been paid of the tour.

I wonder if there is a difference between what a punter will put up with after a few pints and what a player hears?
12. I did a number of gigs supporting a Queen tribute band back in the 90's. They were a total nightmare at sound checks and stitched us up a the last gig we did together. Our sound was terrible and they wanted to charge us 70 quid for their sound man.. We off loaded our gear at the interval and got it out of the venue via a fire door. While they were on stage, we ran up a 350 quid bar bill, saying that they would settle it as they had the control of the money then we legged it. We had already been paid by them.
13.
This made me chuckle so much - we were forced to cancel a series of gigs at LHL's insistence at a venue. Sadly, the venue had forgotten this completely and accused us of acting unprofessionally by informing them on the day were were not actually playing on Saturday night. Much mud slinging across social media until our guitarist suggested he post the email the venue sent him...at which point their posts were removed. Karma - don't you love it! I owe that sound engineer a beer or two!
14.
God you would think that wasnt possible in the 21st century. Even an average pub band can sound decent with whats out there these days.
So true.
15.
We supported a 2Tone band recently and when chatting to the sound guy he apologised in advance, as the headline band stipulated no PA subs till they came on
That's out of order.
16.
I've seen Limehouse Lizzy a couple of times and sound was always excellent. Sounds like a dodgy sound man to me.
That's what I thought Barry. I was embarrassed with how bad they sounded. I had taken some friends along, telling them how much they would enjoy the show.
17. Last night I went to see Limehouse Lizzy, a band that I shared management with many moons ago. They were supporting Livewire, the AC/DC tribute show. Lizzy have been going for over 20 years and have a great reputation but the sound last night was terrible. Muddy to say the least, The vocals were so low in the mix, they couldn't be heard. The balance between the guitars was bad and the bass was a low rumble, individual notes did not stand out. Livewire came on, perfect sound and balance. It made me wonder if Lizzy had been stitched up by a soundman that wanted the headliners to sound better. I had that problem in the past myself, any views?
18. Anyone got a Gibson Thunderbird or a Rickenbacker 4001/4003 they could bring along? You would make an old man very happy.

20. Nice to see Dave Wilson's work is up to his usual stunning standard. That is a beauty. cd_david is a top man to deal with. GLWTS, mate.
21. Jezz Bob, that has to be one of the nicest Dingwall's I have ever seen. What a score.
22. I'm up for this, I hope it comes off.
23. You're not helping my T-Bird Gas Tim. My wife is buying me a s/h one for a combined Christmas/Birthday prezzie but I'm having to wait until the new year. Enjoy.
