1. Nice to see that Seashell got the Squeeze gig.
 2. Another legend gone. RIP Scotty.
 3.
How do you do that?
I can point you to some adult websites that demonstrate this well.
 4. Just stop it. I can't afford anything you sell. A bump is free and well deserved though.
 5.
YOB bass for me too ! lovely, but well out of my range £££ have to ask though, anyone any idea why the MOP discs were inserted, was this a fashion mod? Good luck with the sale!
I blame the weed. Bloody hippies.
 6.
A photo of the beast actually being played to give an idea of the proportions (I'm 6') and an excuse for a selfie
I love the T-shirt. The bass looks pretty cool too.
 7. A great blog as usual Bluejay. Cracking photos and you made me even more depressed that I had to pull out again this year. Hopefully, I'll make it next time and get to meet up with loads of my on-line buddies.
 8. You've really had a tough ride with this one Sean. I hope the end result is a good one.
 9.
I miss playing with Nearly Dan. My concept. 18 years down the pan The joys of alcohol...
I miss your playing with Nearly Dan. You and the band were outstanding but I'm glad you're getting your life together again. I wish you nothing but the best Pete.
 10. Don't re-fin it, it looks lush as it is. Where do you find these beauties Gary? GLWTS.
 11.
I'm confident I could make it sound like a one-trick pony
12.
The DV mod still sounds like a '3X' on a Dingwall that's for sure, but the pickup configuration offers some extra breadth to the sound which I feel is rather exciting!
I really want to hear one, I'm sure it won't be a one trick pony.
 13. I hope it doesn't sound like a Thunderbird. I want it to have a Dingwall voice, whatever that is.
 14.
The most knowledgeable forum would be the Last Bass Outpost, as some members worked quite closely with B&CH to get these things built. Eyguitars, the purveyor of cheap Chinese hardware, have some nice reproduction '60s Thunderbird pickups. I think they now do them in nickel finish, and with two different output ratings. I would buy the B&CH and then retrofit the Eyguitars pickups, if it were me.
Which impedance would give the best results. I'm thinking of putting a couple of these in my Pbass as a cheap Mike Lull alike.
 15.
People keep asking about the making of these basses are they from a factory.... Etc... I came across this video about the workshop on you tube.. Might be of some interest.. And answer some questions..
Cool video. Nice to see so much hand finishing. I don't think you could get a Shuker or ACG handmade for this price and quality and have the custom options falling below Fender Standard pricing. If I needed a new bass, it would be a Jake for me.
 16. That's a real looker Gary, some sound clips would be nice.
 17.
I can't think of any. Not to high jack the thread, I can only comment on new material from bands that have had their day. The iconish bands of my generation are no longer making great recordings. Nobody is interested in their new material. For example, nobody is a bigger Stones fan than me, however I have absolutely no interest in their "new stuff". Just a little off topic. My generation was buying those great recordings when we were like 16 and 17 years old. I seriously doubt many 70 plus year old artists can write material that's socially relevant to today's youth. And why would they want to? Most of these bands (my heroes) have enough material recorded in the 60s & 70s to last me a life time. I think most artists go through one stage of prolific writing and that's about it. Just my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Blue
Nail and head. I find that bands have a few great albums then it's Meh after that. I can't think any that have produced great work in later years, never mind after reforming.
 18.
I spoke to Sheldon at length throughout the weekend about all things bass. I can tell you (and am excited and touched to find out) that the pickup switching is essentially my 'DV1' series modification that I posted a year ago. What's really interesting is that I further modified my AB1 about 4 months ago and brought it along yesterday to show Sheldon what I had changed. By coincidence both my AB1 and the DBird share the same configuration. So now they are, coils wired in parallel in each pickup then 'series only' configuration of the pickups : (except I have a PTone in series still) Neck and Middle Middle and Bridge Neck and Bridge All 3 Sounds great - but I would say that!
But does it sound like a Thunderbird?
 19.
Run run run JoJo Gunne.
Bummer, beat me to it. Love this track as a lad.
 20.
is he on the internets? if so get him signed up to scotts
^this. Sound advice.
 21.
God I wish I had stories like that to tell. Cracking post, Sir.
Thanks but it was just a chance encounter. I think he still brags about it to this day.
 22. I had a PM from Martin Gordon around 3 years ago. I mention on a thread here that my old covers band had supported Jet back in the '70's at a gig in Dunoon and he wanted to know what my memories of it were. He said he was writing a book and would give me a credit if he used anything I told him. I wasn't much help as I was mostly off my tits back then and my memory was poor.
