1.
The bass arrived at Bass Direct earlier this week. I am going down to pick it up tomorrow morning. If anyone is going to be around you'd be very welcome to try out this new bass Mark P.S. I believe there's also a new Chronos in that would be worth checking out if anyone was thinking of visiting Bass Direct sometime soon
Congrats Mark. Good luck on the featureless topography of that seeminly endless neck ... I'm Gas-free now My Woody is wonderful
 2. Used to be loads of sound systems like that around St Paul in Bristol when I lived there They really move your innards
 3. An active P bass with two pickups? Well Fender did that to them in the 80's - those ones with the white pickups but it's really not the Spirit of P is it?
 4.
Hey - I'm from Stroud...! Sadly I live in London so I won't be at this gig - but Stroud is ace - hope the gig goes well, sounds like a worthy/fun night out. Cheers Mike
Thanks Mike, I like Stroud. May even retire there .. love those hippy ley lines Tenth year running they have booked us for this one in Coaley Must be doing something right and the gig organiser is a dream. Everything is perfectly well organised, makes loads of monet for Save the Children and we get tea coffee and choccy biscuits when setting up and sound checking We even had a full house last year when the snow was up to the eves in the village and we had to take overnight survival stuff as the weather men were promising -17C .. We thought it would be sparsely attended but it was heaving and we got home OK It's not the famous Stroud Ceilidh (same night but what the hey) ...

 6.
I did google and only found the dealer from their website and called him asking for pricing. However I wasn't confident about giving him my details over the phone. But I couldn't find them anywhere else, thanks for that ebay link he's on my favourite sellers already.
Yuk colours though How about This guy?

 8.
I have had one for more than 5 years and it works great. Now i want to buy another but I can't find them here in the UK, anyone can point me on the right direction? Thanks David
Did you google? 9.
I hate it when someone (especially an 'OldGit' ) says that; as I remember when these were released/reviewed... and it doesn't seem that long ago!
I bet you can't remember yesterday though There's one of these in my local used gear emporium for £245. They are generally on the ball for prices .. Or ... It's probably a G SC-312P (possibly called the Trident though that seems to be a head as well) 240Watt / 16 Ohm NOS one here for 330 Euro (plus shipping from Switzerland ) http://shop.musix.ch/ecommerce/product_inf...oducts_id/10499

 11. Let me be the first to recommend Jon Caulfield in Cardiff. http://www.joncaulfield.com/indexjc.html
 12. It's brilliant .. Now, back to the playing
 13. I have a drummer mate who's joined a covers band where there is only the one way to play things - the guitarist's way. The drummer's expert input is not required. So why take on a drummer with a million great chops and 40 year's experience? Der! I think he'll be moving on soon.
 14.
If you can get a passable Stacia nobody would care who was in the band.
The original is probably still available
 15.
What makes him 'band leader'? I encounter this phrase all the time but struggle to see how it fits into the grand scheme of things in many bands. Does he own the rights to the band name, logo, etc... Does he own publishing rights for all material, etc... Does he pay the band members a standard salary? If NOTA appliy and he's not some musical genius, then he's not a 'band leader' per se, just someone with more dominating personality than the rest of the band. If it were me, I'd start standing up to him and if he has a problem with it, he can eject you from the band. Chances are, the other bandmates all feel the same way and none of them has the strength of conviction to stand up to him.
Bit of a side track. The "leader" is usually the person who can be arsed to do all the non playing work involved in playing in a band; organising gigs, rehearsals, PA's, set lists, audiences, marketing etc... Sometimes it's great to have all that done for you so you can just show up and play the gigs.... The pay-off is that sometimes bad decisions come with the good ones... I think the Hillage band's a fantastic offer - in fact do that as well as the ex-Hawkwind one -
 16. It's here... :brow:
 17. Very old TE guitar speaker cab, I think. We had a guitarist in our band for a few months several years ago who had one of these .. Sounded fine and the up speaker worked like a monitor
 18. Yup that's not the band you signed up for.. + on take everyone but the "leader" and start a new band doing what you were doing before... You'll have to find a singer which may be a challenge but at least you can call the shots... Also go back to the adverts cos now you have a year's worth of band experience and some gigs under you belt. You may get more replies this time.
 19. I think you are thinking or Apex. His son Paul does it http://www.gigshots.co.uk/
 20.
there is one the same but fretless at www.hendrixguitars.com (near Genoa, Italy) on hold at only 2.500 Euros whatever that is in old money. BB
Bit less than £6k, I think ...
 21.
Just played in a Battle of the Bands type affair. Didn't get through (didn't expect to as it was one pint, one vote and we didn't go mob handed) but a good night as we've been offered a few gigs at some local venues. Bloody sound limiter box was a pain in the harris though... drummers always trip them!
A BOTB in a place with a sound limiter? Doh!
 22.
Well, it's mine now Or rather, it will be soon. I'm destined to own all of your basses eventually, Si....
ha ha Want me to fix my will so you get the rest?
 23.
I've done about 3 decent supports in the last few months & we have always had a good deal out of the venues / promoters. However I've found lower down the scale at pub gigs we've dealt with promoters who really should just call themselves "bookers" as they haven't done much in the way of promoting, passing this on to the bands to do.
Don't really want to go round this one again do we?
 24.
MB1. Blimey!...apart from the fotoflame neck and the scratchplate didnt this used to be mine Si? (admittedly only fleetingly!) BUMP!
Can't remember if it was one of the ones I got in from Japan So many basses, so few working brain cells .....
 25.
It's listed on here too. The seller is originally from Aberdeen.
Ah sorry! Missed that.
