1. I have a length of 4-core speaker cable that was used for a band project several years ago and which is cluttering up my garage. Conductors: 4 x 3-sq.mm. Inner Conductors: 399 x 0.10mm Outer Diameter: 11.0 mm Colour: Dark Blue Happy to cut it up and sell at £1.50 per metre plus postage.
 2.
Any trades you're interested in?
Not especially as I'm pretty well set up but you an always make me an offer. I can only say no if it doesn't "float my boat".
 3. One of my biggest regrets in life was selling my Framus Star bass in 1967. It triggered retirement from playing music for 23 years. Eventually I saw the light and then I found Bassworld.
 4. I'll be there on the Sunday. If anyone wants any cables I can bring them with me and you can save on the postage
 5.
Can the Aguilar TH500 do this?
TH500 is fine without a load.
 6. Pictures added.
 7.
6 inches/15cm would be ample. It is merely to take a straight plug on my Trex current doubler cable and 'convert' it to right angle. The connection between leads being concealed under the board and the right angle plugged into the pedal...
I'll make you one. PM me your address, etc.
 8.
Now just got to find a short 2.1mm right angle male to straight female....
When you say short, how long overall?
 9. Unfortunately not the Lite version but still quite Light.

 11.
OBBM in Farnham seems to be your nearest or you can check the list for your self. http://basschat.co.u...elp-fix-a-bass/
Thanks for the plug John but I don't do set-ups, well only on my own basses. Always happy to help BCers with any soldering however.
 12. It should not be a problem as long as you position the holes correctly. If you are not in rush I can send you a copy of the Britsh Standard for rack fixing which has all the dimensions.
 13.
The right angle ones have tags for the earth. The straight ones didn't, and it did seem that it took a while to get the solder to take. But I'm getting the same problem with both straight and right angle. Yep, both were okay. Aha, I've just seen something on another forum about this. No, is the answer. I've just taken a look and I can see what you mean - there's a black sheath around the white insulator surrounding the signal cable. You're saying that's conductive?!
Yes it is. You need to trim that right back and your problem should be solved.
 14.
Conductive plastic?
It's also described by one cable manufacturer as "semiconductor", which it clearly isn't however it's conductive PVC with carbon particles. If it is not stripped back to clear the centre conductor and touches the jack tip wiring the cable will exhibit the sort of problems that the OP is having.
 15. OP, are you stripping back the black conductive plastic screen from the inner core?
 16. I can only think of one thing better than a CN212 and that is .... 2 x CN212. Good luck with the sale
 17. 70 next month.
 18.
Are you offering those Hicon jacks now Dave?
Yes can do with either Vandamme or Classic Tweed cable.
 19. I quite like these.
 20. Sorry but all this talk of 4-core GK cable is slightly irrelevant. Looking at his signature the OP has an LMIII and a Barfaced One 10. Neither of these are Bi-ampable so the only connections in use are 1+ and 1- regardless of whether the Speakon is 4-pole or 2-pole or the cable is 2-core or 4-core. Interestingly I had a case a few months back where someone with a Markbass amp was having a similar problem. Having sent him two brand new and tested 2-pole Speakon to Speakon cables there was still a problem. As far as I was concerned there was nothing wrong with any of the cables but he refused to accept there was anything wrong with the amp. Finally I sent him a cable with 4-pole Speakons which seemed to solve it. We never did get to the bottom of the problem I suspect that the Speakon sockets on some Markbass amps do suffer from wear or misalignment.
 21. I made a perspex one for my Sadowsky UV70. Works a treat and can be removed without leaving a mark. Next job is to make one for the PJ.
 22.
These are my local suppliers, brilliant company and my first point of call, but they only had a limited range in black, and they are all very short (2 metres). Thanks though.
Why not get some 2.5-sq.mm. rubber covered cable and make them longer?
 23.
Maybe we should have a directory for local BCers open to doing some small-scale works on basses? I would also be happy to do it, but Staffs is a good stretch from here too.
Good idea. I'm always happy to help out anyone who needs a bit of soldering done. Shame Staffordshire is so far away.
