1.
I'll settle for that. Could be worse.
Phew I did that days ago... I thought I'd put you in a huff. C'mon then, let's hear your Frank Bruno.

    kjb Feedback..

Just a wee follow up. After discovering the feedback that I'd left for him above, Kevin got in touch with me via PM here on Basschat. He informed me that he had in fact replied to my email but that it had somehow got lost (although oddly enough all my subsequent replies in our email conversation were present and chronologically correct ) he apologised for the inconvenience and informed me that he was no longer in a position to buy my boutique pre-amp, he did however want to trade for my Aguilar OBP-3 (remember the one that I'd originally contacted him about). Against my better judgement but as my bass was still sitting empty after the previous escapade, I decided to give him a second chance and said ok, and asked how he wanted to proceed... I added that I would amend my feedback if it all went ok. That was on the 26th of April... I got no reply. I've since sent 3 further PM's reminding him of our conversation, again all PMs received no replies. Then on the 15th of May, with no reply, apology or explanation he deleted* our PM conversation. This further bit of mucking about only reinforces the fact that Kevin simply doesn't know how to conduct himself correctly when involved in a private deal over the internet and is certainly not worthy of a friendly, trustworthy forum such as this. In short... Kevin J Buckland is an absolute time waster, avoid !!! edit : It has come to light that kjb is one of Kevin's alter egos on here. Soliloquy is another which he may be more well known by. The mods take the abuse of multiple accounts here on BC very seriously and the case is being dealt with as we speak. * Kevin, just because you removed the PMs at your end, it doesn't mean that I don't still have a copy of the conversation at mine.
  3. Yeah As long as the pins enter the connector. You can kink them anywhere.. if it gives you a bit more resistance when pushing it in it's doing it's job.
  4. It should be ok... but to be extra sure you could put a tiny tiny little kink into the 3 pins - that way you know for sure they are making contact on the inside of the quick connect socket.
  5. To be fair, Ozzy needs the dosh like. btw I hope Geezer was getting the biggest slice seeing as how he wrote all the best songs.
  6. Wow this looks (dare I say it) +++AWESOME+++
  7. If the nut is really that badly damaged then it would suggest that the truss rod has some sort of problem... like it isn't turning. That being the case you should probably return it anyway.
  8.
except if all it needed was a decent set up, I'm sure prior to selling it it could have got a decent set up....
9.
I've just had a little bit of sick come up looking at that!!!!! Outshined - Is there no way we could get the moderators to remove the add of the so called "BC 'er"? surely any self respecting member on here would be totally transparent about selling/trading /buying......sounds like this guy has missed the point of this community totally. We'd be better off without him/her!!!! Rant over!
I dunno, it's a tough one. Morally I feel obliged to do something about it... but forum protocol discourages interference with people's sale threads. It would have been nice if the guy had just come out and disclosed the issue straight up ... it could be all that's needed is just a decent setup to rectify it... of course if the neck has a tight fit then more work will be needed to sort it.
  10.
There's no way to tell the guy to withdraw his bid, is tnere ? I wonder if I posted a question to the [s]buyer[/s] seller "that neck looks misaligned, can you tell me if you found it a problem ?" that he'd actually make the Q&A public ?
There is guy selling a considerably more expensive bass on here at the moment with a similar G string/misalignment issue who, despite having the problem subtly touched upon (given the restraint of the forum rules) is apparently experiencing some denial of the problem... although he removed the pics, put them back up and has now added a pic from a different angle where it looks less of an issue.... conveniently cutting off the pickups so you can't see how the new angle misses the pole pieces. Unfortunately someone off here is probably going to buy it.... or if they don't someone off ebay will. What can you do about it? Obviously we aren't allowed to say anything which will cause a member to lose out on a sale.

    We're back...
Yes! I was pretending not to understand (again), the joke being that Finnbass is a nice, quiet, thoughtful place. And TalkBass isn't, obviously.
My bad, mate. I didnae know you were on there.
  12.
didn't you know, it's Ebay fashion that when you are thinning down your collection you sell all the best ones. Especially ones that play like butter or are the best you have ever played.
And have necks that are "straight and true". I always chuckle at that nautical one-liner. Why does no one on ebay (and occasionally on here) sell any bases with a nice bit of relief in the neck?

    We're back...
What, Finnbass?
I thought they're talking about TB no? I like FB but rather ironically (considering my gripe with the 100s of emails on here) his notification system doesn't work with my email and I end up missing out on huge chunks of conversations... so in the end I just gave up with it. I've met up with some genuinely nice and down to earth people through there though.
  14.
I was kinda joking. Not sure we'd get 100 folks together. Logistical nightmare too.I would be intrigued to know how much you'd save though. Would take ages to ship that quantity from China too.
Look into it for the head only, and confirm the minimum order... then see. I'd easily give up the price of a good night out on the piss for a "Basschat" special (even just to have as a spare ) and I'm sure so would many more.
  15. Hola fuzz heads. Time for another bermp this time with a proper vid. The one that such posted earlier has a good bit of info about the knobs and dials etc but as usual with all the reviews those MXR guys post, they missed the whole fecking point of the pedal (and chose a weird style to play it in)... check out the bit where they supposedly engage the torch button... did they actually push it in? Anyway this vid does a pretty good job of showing off what it can do... and has good examples of the 3way mid shift frequency selector.... ... und dis vun explores more of zee über fuzz range ven you crank it... We're back...

Nice work guys. On the ball as always. I actually thought for a while that I'd been excommunicated (because of some "rebelliousness activity" in the face of some "Untouchables" lately) when I wasn't getting any bassy emails. Actually it was kind of cool not having literally hundreds of emails cluttering up my inbox for a change... remember like it used to be before the "THE CHANGE". I think I might unsubscribe from a few more areas now and give my inbox a well deserved break.
  17.
..... It's not Warmoth parts at all they're Mighty Mite...
Haha Steve. I saw this last night just after you posted and was like "right what can I sell".
  18.
I'm going to stick a fender badge on my warwick
19. .... That's if you're not too Bizet.
  20.
Thomann's Bach is worse than their Beethoven.
In that case the best thing to do is keep on Chopin for a better deal.
  21. We need to get a 'methean and a RS/HB in the same room and let them slug it out.
  22.
Which Beta Alvin developed, but didn't install into the other amps for fear of Ibanez maybe getting a bit annoyed?
That has been suggested yes... but it's equally likely that it wasn't included in the package to keep the price down.... who knows.
  23.
Sorry, but what are the differences?
The 'methean had a pre-amp based on that of the Markbass Little Mark.
  24.
I've tried to follow this as best I can but am I right in saying the RS/HB/Ibanez amplifier heads are physically the same? Could the difference in sound be wholly down to, perhaps the dimensions of the cabinet, that aren't as optimally designed? Did we decide if the drivers are the same too? Just trying to decide whether these subtle, and at first seemingly insignificant details, could make the Ibanez an all-round better buy, in the long term.
From my experience, the sturdier cab on the RS helps produce a better sound for this form factor. I have no personal experience of this but the differences in the Promethean's amp should (in theory) make it a nicer sounding head when used with a bigger or higher quality cab. The drivers are indeed the same.
