1.
.... then I'd still go for a SUB, because I think the black one looks really cool (once you replace the naff pickguard )...
Yeah they do (my old one)
 2.
I'd encourage the use of something a little less robust that superglue - there'll likely be a time you'll want to move that screw again, and superglue can be quite permanent in a completely annoying way.
I agree, although super glue doesn't seem to very super these days.
 3. I used to get something very similar off a radar that was stationed a few miles from me.
 4.
What's a perfected service? that's a new one on me.
lol I mean the Guitar Project resource not the ebay dude.
The Guitar Dater Project aims to provide you with the information hidden in your Guitars' Serial number in plain English. It is a work in progress and is constantly evolving, much of which is due to user feedback.
5.
What do you reckon, is that because it's not connected to a body??
I'd guess it's not a perfected service.
 6. I actually think it looks quite convincing for a bass that has had the shyte kicked out of it since the '70s.
 7. Guitar project says "Serial number unrecognized"
 8. The smartarse answer is that you can make any neck fit any body... the more helpful one you want to hear is, nope they should fit fine.
 9. Can you pick the paint off with your thumb nail?
 10.
Hi all, Help needed with this one, bought a bass with a knackered truss rod nut. Its brass and some one has butchered it! I have been to my local guitar shop but they can't get hold of one. Please see pics Cheers Patch
What pics?
 11. Ew that headstock is all kinds of wrong on that body.
 12.
This but I have never seen one as low as £400 Duarte must drink in a dodgy pub next to a music shop £600 as a minimum price would be more realistic and will more than likely hold that value indefinitely where we are already seeing used subs being favoured over SBMM's (see ou7shineds post above). A couple of SBMM owners that told me how wrong I am and that they are in some cases better than the real versions I notice theirs have since gone in the FS/FT section
It's all very well to fall in love with a and sing the praises of a brand new SBMM (or any bass for that matter) but time and time again it has been shown that the closest you can get to a 'ray is a SUB (it's about time we got a sticky together). They were built under the same roof, by the same techs with the same parts, only the SUB was a little less refined and the hardware was the same but unbranded to keep the budget down. If you want the 'ray look get a SBMM. If you want the 'ray sound get the SUB. If you want both get a 'ray.

 14. Haha my mum made that quilted cover - looks like it's saved it from taking a fair few knocks since you've had it too Graham. This is a wicked amp, loud, articulate and in no way whatsoever woo... Nah I'm not even going to sully this thread by saying it. Tremendous amount of amplification for the money.
 15. Love the Q&As.
 16.
The same sellers other item. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Westone-Hawkwind-Do-...15#ht_902wt_934
I might be wrong (I usually am in this thread ) but if this is the .... ahem... bass I think it is, there should be a chunk missing from rear of the neck pocket.
 17. It's kind of hard to impart everything you need to know in a few sentences but you seem to be on the right track. Most important is using the right tools for the job - fret pullers and a fret hammer are your minimum. And just take it nice and steady, don't get ahead of yourself - make sure you're happy that each fret is seated before going onto the next. Making new frets fit where old frets used to be can a pain but you can take up the slack with wood veneer. A handy tip is to put a curve greater than the radius of your board in the frets that way the ends don't spring up when they are tapped in.
 18.
Definately. JJ Burnel,Paul Simenon,Dee Dee Ramone..Guess what I use.
Heroin?
 19. Can you not use the screws that were originally in there? If not find a bit (blunt or otherwise ) that is just thinner than the Ric screws and make yourself some new holes.
 20. If there's an earth wire, wire it up... always.

I'll give you 60 quid for it. Seriously though I love the gold leaf.
